After coming back from our fun trip to Bohol, we were back in busy Manila. We thought the adventures were over for now, but a few days later, my sister and cousin invited us to go on another trip. This time, we traveled from Bulacan at 5 AM to Rizal for a short drive to a place called Casa Peregrine in San Mateo. We didn’t think twice. We packed our bags again and got ready for another adventure.
As we moved farther from the metro, the air grew fresher and the scenery more scenic. We rolled down our windows, played our favorite road trip playlist, and soaked in the change of pace.
Casa Peregrine was beautiful. It was a mix of modern and cozy, with wooden walls, big windows, and wide open spaces. The view from the house was amazing like you could see mountains, trees, and even clouds rolling in the early morning. It felt peaceful and calm, like a secret place just for us.
That afternoon, we just wanted to relax. Some of us sat on the deck with coffee, others dipped into the small pool, and a few of us walked around to take in the peaceful view. Everything felt slow, calm, and quiet, just what we needed.
But then we saw something interesting behind some trees: an obstacle course! At first, we didn’t know if we could use it, but the caretaker said it was okay so of course, we had to try it.
At first, we joked around and said we’d only do a few parts. But once we started, we couldn’t stop. The course had rope bridges, climbing nets, wooden planks, and even a wall to climb. It wasn’t super hard, but it still made us sweat and laugh a lot.
We helped each other through the course. When someone got stuck or scared, the rest of us cheered them on. Some of us were fast and balanced, while others (like me!) were wobbly and slow but we were all having fun.
One of the funniest moments was when my cousin tried to walk across a log, slipped, and fell onto the grass with a loud thump. No one was hurt, but we laughed so hard we had to stop and catch our breath.
The last part of the course was a crawl under a net and a quick run to the end. By the time we finished, we were dirty, tired, and smiling from ear to ear. We didn’t expect to do anything like that on this trip, but it turned out to be one of the best parts.
And just when we thought we were done, we found more fun nearby, a giant swing and a spider web climb! A large rope net hanging between two trees. We climbed up and posed like little kids on a jungle gym. It made us feel playful and silly all over again in a web.
The swing was tied to a big tree, and it gave you that flying feeling for a few seconds. We took turns riding it, and each swing came with screams, laughs, and slow-motion videos for the memories.
It was just short, but it felt like a full adventure. We didn’t expect much at first, but Casa Peregrine gave us time to relax, a chance to laugh, and memories we’ll always remember.
Sometimes, all you need is a little trip, good company, and a bit of nature to feel happy again.
