At the end of last year, my friend and I went to Cyprus to start the European hiking trail with the number E4. Then came the problems with travel and I had to cancel the plan I had for March. The plan was to walk along this hiking trail through Hungary. At the end of the summer, it is quite hot in flat Hungary, so I decided to go to the mountains. That's why I chose neighboring Austria.
Na konci minulého roku jsem s kamarádem vyrazili na Kypr, abychom začali Evropskou turistickou stezku s číslem E4. Pak přišly problémy s cestováním a musel jsem zrušit plán který jsem měl na březen. Plán byl projít po této turistické stezce skrze Maďarsko. Na konci léta bývá v rovinatém Maďarsku dosti horko a tak jsem se rozhodl vyrazit do hor. Proto jsem zvolil sousední Rakousko.
So I bought a train ticket to the easternmost part of Austria where this route enters the country. I took the train from Prague via Brno and Vienna to the city of Eisenstadt. Here I bought food supplies and took a bus to a town called Mattersburg. Here I started walking west. From Mattersburg through fields and vineyards in incredible heat, I came to the town of Forchtenstein, which is dominated by a castle on a hill.
Koupil jsem proto jízdenku na vlak do nejvýchodnější části Rakouska kde tato trasa vstupuje do země. Vlakem jsem se z Prahy přes Brno a Vídeň dostal až do města Eisenstadt. Zde jsem nakoupil zásoby potravin a autobusem dojel do města s názvem Mattersburg. Zde jsem zahájil pěší cestu směr západ. Z Mattersburgu skrze pole a vinice v neskutečném horku jsem došel do městečka Forchtenstein kterému dominuje hrad na kopci.
The route started to climb from Forchtenstein for the first time and I had the opportunity to conquer the first peak on my way. The peak was a hill called Heuberg with a height of 748 meters above sea level. At the top is a Gothic church and a beautiful view of the castle Forchtenstein. As darkness approached, I had to start looking for a place to sleep. I found a place in the woods on one road where the stream originated, but the spring was muddy from wild animals, so it could not be used to replenish the water. I fell asleep almost immediately because I was tired of the unbearable heat that ruled the lowlands.
Z Forchtenstein začala trasa poprvé stoupat a měl jsem možnost zdolat první vrchol na mé cestě. Tím vrcholem byl kopec s názvem Heuberg s výškou 748 metrů nad mořem. Na vrcholu je i gotický kostel a nádherný výhled na hrad Forchtenstein. Jelikož se blížila tma musel jsem začít hledat místo na spaní. Našel jsem v lese u jedné cesty místo kde pramenil potok, ale pramen byl rozbahněn od zvěře, takže se nedal použít pro doplnění vody. Usnul jsem téměř okamžitě, protože jsem byl unaven z nesnesitelného vedra, které vládlo v nížině.
During the first day, I walked 11.6 km and overcame an elevation gain of 614 meters, which was not a bad result at all on the first day, given that I had about 4 hours to do it.
Během prvního dne jsem ušel 11.6 km a překonal převýšení 614 metrů, což nebyl na první den vůbec špatný výsledek vzhledem k tomu , že jsem na to měl asi 4 hodiny.
