When you think of IIT Delhi, the first thing that strikes your mind is the extreme academic rigour and nerds with no life outside their books. Little did you know that these talented kids also have some other interests apart from studying? For people who don't know about IIT Delhi, it is the premier institute for research and higher education in India.
IIT Delhi recently conducted Rendezvous- its annual cultural fest in March. It is the largest college cultural fest across Asia held over 4 days. The event saw a footfall of over 400,000 students and had some crazy ass events and competitions. There were concerts by popular Indian singers every night which filled the atmosphere with energy. The fest was enthralling, and I enjoyed every single moment of it.
We attended the fest on the third day. IIT Delhi is in the Hauz Khas area so it took us around an hour to reach by metro. We verified our passes for the event and went on to experience the beautiful,l lush green campus of IIT Delhi, which was decorated with flowers, posters, banners, artwork, and sculptures. The atmosphere was very lively and vibrant. There was music and people were making merry. There were fun games like archery, tug-of-war, push-up challenge, laser tag, and many more.
There were many food stalls and shops. Startups were promoting their products and small-scale businesses that work for the betterment of our society. There were live music performances throughout the day and even at night. We were very excited about the event.
There were also various workshops on NFTs, cryptocurrencies, marketing, product development, and much more. There were also some book launch events, talk shows, and painting competitions. Some street plays, dance competitions, research summits, wall painting competitions, and comedy shows also took place.
The eye-catching part was the concert night, which was our main reason for attending the event. There were performances by various artists at the concert throughout the night. We saw performances by Blitzkrieg, Antariksh, and Nucleya. The event was amazing, and we had the time of our lives.
There was so much going on, and it was refreshing to see a lot of happy and cheerful faces. It was really hard to pick just a few events.
