Hi everyone! Today I'll be sharing some beautiful pictures along with the experience gained from visiting the astonishing temples of Bholenath.

The temples of Bholenath are located in the foothills of Manikaran valley, Himachal Pradesh. Located just 35 miles away from the district headquarters of Kullu, the Bholenath temples provide an unparalleled scene of beauty. They stand at an elevation of 8,000 feet from sea level. The Bholenath shrine was constructed in the 18th century by King Jagat Singh. The temple is visited by thousands of devotees each year. The temple is still administered by the king's staff.
(Renovated area of temple)
The temple has an idol of Lord Rama from the Hindu religion. It is believed that the king who constructed the temple spent the last 26 years of his life in this holy shrine. He renounced all his worldly pleasures and became a true devotee of Lord Rama.

This place is a sacred place for the Hindus. The area is also well known for its beautiful landscape. It is believed that praying at this temple, makes one's life free of sins and disease. Devotees achieve 'Nirvana' and get 'Moksha' after a pilgrimage to this place.
( Entrance to the temple )
The temple sustained heavy damages due to an earthquake in 1905 which caused it to tilt slightly. The importance of the temple can also be judged from the fact that all the local deities from Kullu pay a visit to the temple each year.

This ancient temple has significant historical importance. It offers a magnificent view of the Parvati valley. It has a nice and calm environment right in the heart of Parvati valley. We enjoyed ourselves and had a lot of fun at this place. It is a must-visit for backpackers who love exploring the various historic sites of the world.
