Hato Tierra Brava
After 6 hours of travel, because we left at 7 am from home and it was almost 2 pm when we arrived. m from the house and it was almost 2 pm when we arrived with an embracing sun and a lot of hunger we were near the family ranch, the last time I made this trip I made it as a normal passenger, making stops from one terminal to another and even though my country is in hyperinflation there is always a small improvement something very slight in every city and town and things change, I was supposed to be the guide and the person that everyone trusted to get to the destination, I was also sure of my abilities as a guide until we reached the last road, a lonely road with few houses on the sides and a sign that says Medano Alto, that was the sign I was waiting for to guide me to the last road, but a stop that was there was no longer there, some houses had a different color and I was lost.
Después de 6 horas de recorrido, porque salimos a las 7 a.m de la casa y eran casi las 2 pm cuando llegamos con un sol abrazador y mucha hambre estábamos cerca del hato familiar, la última vez que hice este viaje lo realice como pasajera normal, haciendo escalas de un terminal a otro y por más que mi país esté en hiperinflación siempre hay una pequeña mejora algo muy leve en cada ciudad y pueblo y las cosas cambian, se suponía que yo era la guía y la persona en la que todos confiaban para llegar al destino yo también estaba segura de mis capacidades como guía hasta que llegamos a la última carretera, una vía solitaria con pocas casas a los lados y un letrero que dice Médano Alto, ese era el aviso que esperaba para guiarme al último camino, pero una parada que quedaba allí ya no estaba, algunas casas tenían otro color y yo estaba perdida.

Los taxistas, mi mamá, y toda mi familia me veían con cara de pocos amigos, tenían hambre, sed y calor, además estaban cansados del viaje, nos detuvimos y yo me bajé para mirar alrededor al cielo y buscar algunas estrellas que me indicaran el camino, casi que busco la estrella de Belén ja, ja, ja, en realidad pensé que las líneas telefónicas privadas tendrían cobertura como hace años, pero no fue así, no había comunicación con nadie para que me indicara por donde seguir. Después de tomarnos un refresco y saciar la sed, tuve que soportar las bromas pesadas de todos al verme preguntando a cuanta persona pasaba por allí, nadie sabía ni conocía a mi familia ni al lugar a donde íbamos, hasta que un señor le sonó familiar cuando mencione que hace años había una parada de motos taxi en algún lugar.

Gracias a ese detalle, el señor nos dijo por donde seguir y con las manos en el corazón lleno de esperanza, seguimos por un camino de tierra por media hora, después de ese tiempo me fue familiar algunas casas y llegamos al Hato tierra Brava, donde nos esperaban con comida lista y los brazos abiertos. Aquí vive la tía de mi mamá, los primos de ella y sus descendientes. Yo tenía mucha curiosidad por ver la reacción de mi abuela que tiene memoria senil al encontrarse con su cuñada después de tantos años.

Mi abuela cuando la vio sonrió y la reconoció, fueron efímeros segundos de lucidez, estar en el llano y ver los animales hizo que mi abuela retrocediera el tiempo y recordara a mi abuelo, durante esos días pronunciaba su nombre. Esta vez todo estaba diferente, no había mangos ni ciruelas que son frutas de temporadas que antes en estas fechas estaban maduras, había poco ganado y flacos por la sequía no tenían que comer, tanto los animales como los frutos disminuyeron en cantidad, me cuenta mi prima que casualmente cuando la pandemia llego las vacas se enfermaron y murieron como unas 10 en pocos días, no se supo que las enfermo y eso redujo las reces y la familia tuvo perdidas.
