Hello dear traveling community, welcome to my blog, today we will take a walk through the flower of Venezuela located in Barquisimeto, capital of Lara state.
I had wanted to visit this monument for years, since I heard about its inauguration I wanted to go until the day came, but it was not as I expected. The flower of Venezuela is a mostly metal structure built in 2000 to be a symbol to represent the country in an international exhibition in Germany, under the concept of humanity, nature and technology, the idea was to create something that encompasses man in a state of harmony with the environment so its design is inspired by the tepuis of the Gran Sabana and the orchid flower which is the national flower.

Hola querida comunidad de viaje, bienvenidos a mi blog, hoy daremos un paseo por la flor de Venezuela ubicada en Barquisimeto Capital del estado Lara.
Tenía años deseando conocer este monumento, desde que me entere de su inauguración quería venir hasta que llego el día, pero no fue como lo esperaba. La flor de Venezuela es una estructura mayormente metálica construida en el año 2000 para ser un símbolo que representara al país en una exposición internacional en Alemania, bajo el concepto de humanidad, naturaleza y tecnología, la idea era crear algo que englobara al hombre en un estado de armonía con el ambiente por eso su diseño está inspirado en los Tepuyes de la Gran Sabana y en la flor orquídea que es la flor nacional.
Venezuelan architect José Vivas created a system of 16 petals that could be opened and closed, once the exhibition was finished in Germany it was progressively transferred to Venezuela for two years until its completion in 2008 where it was inaugurated. This metallic flower would have its petals and would be bathed in colored lights during the night, there are many photos on the internet about this majestic work that enamors anyone who sees it, in its initial level the walls are covered with images of the most beautiful places in the country, They are large posters and I was very excited to see that in a considerable part of the images I have already been, also in this area there is a small place that shows anthropological crafts with its review and little light, difficult to read what they describe, there are some iron and wood sculptures, a model of the structure and bathrooms for ladies and gentlemen.
El arquitecto Venezolano José Vivas creó un sistema de 16 pétalos que podían abrirse y cerrarse, una vez que termino la exposición en Alemania fue trasladada progresivamente a Venezuela durante dos años hasta completarse en el 2008 donde fue inaugurada. Esta flor metálica habría sus pétalos y se bañaba de luces de colores durante la noche, hay muchas fotos en internet sobre esta majestuosa obra que enamora a cualquiera que la vea, en su nivel inicial las paredes están cubiertas de imágenes de los lugares más hermosos del país, son unos afiches grandes y sentí mucha emoción al mirar que en una parte considerable de las imágenes ya he estado, también en esta área está un pequeño lugar que muestran artesanías antropológicas con su reseña y poca luz, difícil leer lo que describen, hay algunas esculturas de hierro y de madera, una maqueta de la estructura y los baños para damas y caballeros.
I spent a good part of the time observing the model of the flower of Venezuela, I love models, then I wanted to go up to the upper level, but it is closed the staff in charge told me it was under maintenance, the flower is missing petals so now they do not open it as before or turn on the lights, this maintenance has lasted three years and those who come to see the flower with the same expectation as me leave a little disappointed, However, there is nothing that a good ice cream can not cure and if you have this space, within the facilities, there is an ice cream shop with many flavors, good quality and at an unbeatable price, the ice cream you get in the center and the capital of the country for 10 dollars here are half price, so take advantage.
Pase una buena parte del tiempo observando la maqueta de la flor de Venezuela, me encantan las maquetas, luego quise subir al nivel superior, pero está clausurado el personal encargado me dijo que estaba en mantenimiento, a la flor le faltan pétalos por lo que ahora no la abren como antes ni encienden las luces, este mantenimiento se ha prolongado por tres años y los que vienen a conocer la flor con la misma expectativa que yo se van un poco decepcionados, sin embargo, no hay nada que un buen helado no pueda curar y eso si tiene este espacio, dentro de las instalaciones hay una heladería con muchos sabores, buena calidad y a un precio inigualable, los helados que se consiguen en el centro y la capital del país por 10 dólares aquí están a mitad de precio, así que aprovechen.
