Hello everyone. Yesterday was a holiday for the children, they didn't go to school. My family and I took our children out to Hat Yai District. In order to relax and buy Thai food to take back to eat at home and go to find delicious food in Hat Yai District and Sadao District to eat as well. We left Malaysia and it took about 1.5 hours to arrive at the immigration checkpoint. After passing the checkpoint, we will drive through Sadao District. Along the way, I noticed that in Sadao District there was a place next to the main road from Sadao District to Hat Yai. This place was built by villagers in Sadao District who worship sacred things according to their beliefs. "White Snake Temple" where my family and I had the opportunity to stop by and pay respects for the first time.
This "White Snake Temple" has the beauty of exquisite arts and crafts. By replicating the model from Wat Rong Khun in Chiang Rai Province. By building the Great White Snake temple and painting the entire temple white and adding gold accents to make it stand out beautifully. In this temple, when we walk inside, we will see a statue of a large white snake, the side of which is decorated with flowers and candles and incense sticks for locals and tourists to come and worship. Even though it is a small temple, it is another highlight of Sadao District.
The roof of the temple is a handicraft stencil with the various corners of the temple roof having the shape of a Naga on every side. In front of the entrance on the left and right are the figures of the Nagas facing out onto the road. In addition, on the four corners of the temple there were large lotus flower pots that stood out in all their glory. In front of the entrance there is a statue of an elephant, one elephant on each side, both left and right. The elephant has been a symbol of the Thai people since ancient times. Therefore, it is not unusual that in temples or sacred places like the City Pillar Shrine there are elephant statues everywhere.A temple was built surrounded by water. It may have been built according to Feng Shui principles in which the Naga must have a stream of water. This is according to the principles and beliefs of each person.
And this is 1 highlight point of Sadao District. "White Snake Temple" stands out beautifully in a wide courtyard which is of interest to tourists. And in the back, it can also be an economic source for Sadao District because there will be commercial buildings that have been opened as restaurants and souvenir shops. And this is one thing that I want to present the beauty of Thai art and culture. I am very amazed by Thai arts and crafts. Even though it is only a small temple, I understand that the people who created the art and built this temple have true faith in what they have done. And finally, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit my article today and I hope that I will bring Thai art to share with friends in the next opportunity. thank you very much.
