I will start the story of my visit to this place with a local legend.
According to the legend, the Homolje mountains swallowed a large amount of gold .... At the bottom of the Krupa spring, the water spirit Tartor keeps the treasure ... Every year on "Devil's Day", Tartor beats drums and invites other spirits to his glory. And only then is the entrance to the cave with the gold open...
Wallachian women who want power enter the water that night and want to indulge in the water spirit. If the spirit obeys them and gives them power ... In return, it seeks the life of a young girl ...
It's about a legend ...
And that there is some mystery is testified by the underground chambers and corridors, which divers enter with the obligatory rope ... So that they can return to the surface ... And the water has a special color ...
It is not known where the water comes from in Krupajsko vrelo ....
It is known that there is not a single active stream to flow into Vrelo. The hot water is transparent up to one meter, and in some places up to five or six meters .... Before the dam was built, the water flowed out of the cave ... And now it is half submerged ... In the beginning, 18m depth was explored, and according to more recent research depth goes up to 132m depth ....
I was fascinated by this place ... when we arrived we came here first (I came with a group of tourists, and it is organized by the local bus carrier)
We climbed the stairs, and when we had to go down to the spring, it was crowded, and I noticed a path that leads over and as if descending, so I decided to try to go down ....
And since I was going the other way, I had an insight into the spring from above ...
As I was descending, the whole picture of this magical place slowly came together ... the foggy day added a little more mystery .... Part of the fog rose but it was still vibrating by the water ....
There was also a tourist who took pictures and he lagged behind the group like me ...
And now you will see a little bit of the surroundings ... And there are also fish that inhabit this spring .... the water flows over the dam into a small lake and continues to flow ...
Now I descend to the rampart which I return to the beginning ... It is the second path and leads along the canal with fish ....
Along that rampart we reach the old mill which is not in function but it is nice to see ..... And there are a couple of specimens of larger fish and a small water outlet that makes a miniature waterfall ...
A small waterfall, but taking photos like this looks much bigger .... But I'm happy because I came across one .... I wanted a live waterfall, but I'm also happy with the photos posted by my dear friend ....😊
I reach the old mill, which has withstood the test of time, now it is just a monument ... and that is fine because time does not save ....
I came along that rampart ..... And took a look at the Krupajsko spring in the background .....
And a view of the lake ....
I continue the story and the view of the wider environment in the next part .... 🤗
Here is a magic photo (I tweaked it a bit 😉)
And greetings from me
