Hello hiver! Today is a special day in our religion. It is called "Shivratri".This day is very significant for Hindus. Couples pray for a happy married life on this day and those who are not yet married they also pray for a righteous life partner. This occasion is done once a year.
All men and women participate in this occasion. Almost every temple is crowded with people on this day. We visit a temple near us in the evening and find a large gathering of people there also.
The occasion is organized in a very joyful manner & this occasion has a special significance because nothing has to be eaten during the occasion,not even water. Everyone has to participate in the occassion without eating anything all day and all night. It is also forbidden to sleep that night. After finishing the occasion early in the next morning, everyone has to eat vegetarian food.
Those who have physical ailments have to face some problem in this regard. So many people only eat fruit on this day. Nothing else should be eaten on this day. So this occasion has to be performed with great difficulty.
Various fruits, milk and other sweets are prepared during the occasion. It is called "Prosad". At the end of the occasion they are shared among all. Eating them is considered good luck.
On this day, all the darkness is removed by lighting all around. And everyone prays for a righteous life partner.Every person wants a good life partner in their life. So this occassion is very significant according to the religious beliefs of Hindus.So, even if it is difficult, everyone tries to complete the occasion properly
Every community in the world has its own religious beliefs. We should not look down on anyone. These religious beliefs are continued from one generation to another through ancestors.
But sometimes religious beliefs may seem imaginary due to lack of proper interpretation. So we all should be sympathetic to religious beliefs by acquiring proper knowledge.
