Sometime last week I decided to take myself out on a treat and visit the famous Pleasure Park located in Port-Harcourt city, Rivers, Nigeria.
I spend a lot of time at my training centre where I learn to make dresses, a little bit of time in church and the rest at home. I rarely go on outings and so last week I decided the break out of the triangular movement.
I got a call from a friend and together we decided we should visit Pleasure Park.
We choose Pleasure Park because it is one of the most fun places to go in PH.
I like it, particularly because there are a lot of fun activities one can partake in.
From paintballing to boat riding to climbing, virtual reality games... You name it, you could even decide to see a movie at the cinema.
And even if you're not in the mood for any activity, it has lots of nice areas to relax with decent views.
A little bit of a Tour:
On my very first visit to the park, I went climbing. It Is this massive structure right behind me in the photo above. It was a fun but extremely hectic experience. Also, I'm a bit scared of height and even though we were strapped with safety belts that were connected to the safety lines at all, times I still felt nervous.
On this day I wasn't in the mood for such physical activity, so I just took a photo while passing by.
The picture above shows a distant view of those boarding the boat ride. I cannot swim so I honestly had no interest in trying the ride but it's definitely on my to-do list and will try it out when next I visit the park.
Then there was this train ride I would have loved to hop on but unfortunately, it's only for children.
And there is the Kada cinema. I had seen a movie there sometime in 2019. Yeah, it's been a long time. I saw the infamous Sugar-Rush. The movie lasted for about 2hrs — an action/comedy film. I think it was pretty decent, I did enjoy myself and had great company.
On our walk through the park, we met a young magician. He was into card tricks and the did a couple of demonstrations for us. It was quite exciting. The first was kind of terrifying though as I can't seem to imagine how he was able to identify the card I choose. Card tricks are something I always find intriguing.
SUYA!
Suya is traditional smoke-spiced meat that originates from the Hausas in Northern Nigeria.
I always enjoy eating Suya at the park, they are made nicely. The meat is usually always well cooked and it's very tasty.
I got some snacks and drank some juice as well while enjoying the view. Trust me it's got a nice and peaceful view.
Except when it's a significant day though. It can get crowded at times, particularly when it is a holiday.
I had a good chat with my friend as we talked about life and everything in between. I even mentioned Hive to him so perhaps he would be hoping on sometime in the future.
I tried to take as many pictures but I was carried away by the experience. But luckily I got a couple of shots in and so I decided to share them with you guys!
I hope you enjoyed the read!
And lest I forget, say Hi to my deer-friend:
I think Pleasure Park is a great place to hang out with friends and family and have fun in general. You should definitely check it out anytime you visit Rivers, Nigeria.
Thank You for stopping by! ❤
