We all need some breather, right? Just a little update -- the Philippines is under MECQ again. So that means more restrictions, less movement and less fun. Bummer.
Luckily, my hubby and I were able to go out for a bit. And there’s no other best place to relax than our favorite chillin’ place -- Mountain View Nature’s Park.
And just our luck! * insert sarcasm here * When we went there, it was cloudy and rainy. So I was expecting more fog than any view. And voila! I was right. Still, the mountain view was beautiful. Literally. Despite the fog, I could never get tired of it.
(Got a glimpse of a little sun here)
While some people think it’s a tacky place to go on dates and others would say it’s a “make out” zone, that’s not the case for us.
You got the view.
The fresh, cool mountain breeze.
A little cardio when going uphill.
Affordable fees.
And front row seats of the best view -- city lights! ✨
There’s still a bit of good news despite the MECQ. Since Mountain View Nature’s Park is an “outdoor tourist and leisure” spot, they are still operating. But they are only accepting limited guests only.
Here’s the difference when we went there (around July 2021) to the now (August 2021) but this is a pretty rough and slightly unreliable list
Mountain View Nature’s Resort on:
GCQ (General Community Quarantine)
✔️ Pool Use
✔️ Overnight Stay
✔️ Outdoor dining
✔️ Social Gatherings
✔️ Liquor Allowed
❌ No Pets in Pool Area
❌ No Rope Course
MECQ (Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine)
✔️ Pool Use (Limited Guests Only)
✔️ Outdoor dining
❌ Social Gatherings Not Allowed (manag uyab ra pwede. kidding!)
❌ Liquor Ban
❌ Pets in Pool Area
❌ No Rope Course
So many red Xs there! But the good news here is that you can still go out and go there!
How to Get There?
It’s the closest (and most enjoyable) mountain pool as compared to most resorts in Busay, Cebu.
It’s located on Cebu Transcentral Highway, Cebu. Mountain View Nature’s Park is about 15 minutes away from the city (from JY Mall as a standpoint). They have a big signage to look out for on your left when going up. It is easily navigated through Google Maps and other navigation apps.
We went there on a motorcycle but I think they are offering transportation services on a Vhire right in JY Mall. Best to contact the resort for more information. If you want, you can also commute on a motorcycle ride but I highly discourage that due to the social distancing protocol.
How Much Will It Cost You?
Just Php 50!
That is, for the entrance fee. 😅
The motorcycle commute might range from Php 100 - Php150 depending on your haggling skills.
Back in GCQ...
They had a PROMO where your entrance fee is CONSUMABLE at their Firetree Nook Restaurant. Beverage is not included. Such a downer * pouts * I hope they still have it now despite being on MECQ.
What To Do in Mountain View Nature’s Park??
Relax
You can sit back on one of their benches. If you go to the topmost part of the trail, you’ll find yourself in front of a breathtaking view. The city lights is just
Dine
Go over to their FIRETREE NOOK restaurant and enjoy the best Filipino cuisine. I once had a special dinner here and I highly recommend their PORK SINIGANG. It’s perfect for the cold air and who doesn’t love a hot soup while dining above the city lights?
PLUS! Remember the promo I mentioned? You can convert your entrance fee to food here! Of course, nothing is worth Php 50 so you need to add a little extra for a meal. 🙄
Swim (if you’re up for it!)
We went there on a rainy day and, boy, was it freezing!! Still, we were up for the challenge. 💪
Wearing nothing but a not-so conservative swimwear, we jumped into the pool! It was so cold that I almost peed in the pool! 💦
Mountain View Nature’s Resort is known for its infinity pool. We couldn’t go home without a photo op of its amazing view (or its lack of view in our case)
So, dare to swim in a cold mountain pool resort?
Oh yes!
