The western section of the Huairou district, where I live, is the closest mountain area to the city centre of Huairou. And the northern mountains area is far from the city centre, as the district is like a thumb from south to north with an expansion of more than 100 km, which can be the longest district of Beijing. In last october I have visited several section of the area including the great wall area, and this area is known as the LingHui mountain which is the last place where the road ends. Also, from the entry of the scenic area, the last spot to visit in this natural scenic area is the Chaoyang temple on which I have shared my trip in my previous blog.
The distance from the entry towards the Chaoyang temple is quite a long way but if ou have the permission you can ride directly to the temple yard which would be around 2 km in my guess. Between these two spots the middle area is empty with the natural surrounding and the exploration can be done into the very wild part of the mountains but I have not entered into that area as many paths were blocked and some paths were with no concrete the muddy way to climb and that can be often dangerous. So, I have enjoyed the main roadside beauty with some little area deeoper into the scenic spot there.
The forested area of the western mountain region is highly attractive due to its natural surroundings with pure greenness everywhere. The forest in this region is not accessible in the deeper area, or the entry is entirely restricted for common visitors. But it is also true that there is a vast area accessible to exploration, entirely in the plainlands by the roadside. I have enjoyed the scenic b=views of these spots, some placesthe spot becomes narrower for mountains and some places that is wider.
I have found the contanst flow of water from the upper stream of the mountain which is alongside the road and the water is gathered in tiny ponds in some spots and these ponds are plustered to make sure that the water is not absorbed by the ground. Also, some beautiful stars are created to make the flow of the stream a scenic one itself. The ponds have some trees inside them and the reflection of the surrounding nature in on the water made the scenes more beutiful there.
I found that the road to the temple was recently constructed, and the incline isn't steep; it gradually rises along its length. So, walking along the scenic road is not so tiring and there are many spots with tsome flower garden, and water ponds, where you can enjoy your interval rest with a different beaty there. The flower gardens were full of some wild flowers but due to the autumn, the flowers were not so many like in spring or summer.
I also saw some picnic spots in the vast plain lands of the roadside area, which are designed for family picnics or rented to group travellers. But unfortunately, these areas were completely empty, and I found they have not been taken care of for a long time, maybe they are open in the spring or early summer time, in my opinion. I found the grilling station, tents, children's activity stations and many more for those purposes.
In conclusion, I can say that the natural beauty of the area is soothing, with the clean air and calm environment, as it is the end of city life, and there are no busy roads in the nearby area. It was a completely healing environment to enjoy a leisure day in nature.
I hope you like my photos of the Linghui Mountains in western Huairou, where the natural beauty is at its fullest in the afternoon, with the surroundings at their best. It was an amazing experience to explore such a fantastic place like this, with the discovery of natural beauty, and to enjoy my Beijing life! Furthermore, the favourable weather with clean air and very comfortable weather during the day when I travelled there, the views were more beautiful than at a normal time. If you have any queries, let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them.
Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch up with you at the next one.
Wish you a great day!
