Known as the city of batik, Pekalongan won an award from UNESCO as a Seal of Excellence in 2006. Now, batik is not only known domestically, but also internationally. For Indonesia, batik is a national identity.
Not only batik, Pekalongan also has a variety of natural attractions that must be visited. In fact, the Petungkriyono plateau is designated as an ecotourism area. Located at an altitude of 600-2100 meters above the sea, Petungkriyono has many waterfall tours; Curug Squirrel, Curug Sibedug, Curug Bulu, Curug Lawe, Curug Cinde, and Curug Muncar.
Since the inauguration of Perungkriyono as an ecotourism area, public enthusiasm for nature tourism has increased dramatically. In addition to affordable admission prices, nature tourism also teaches us to be closer to nature, appreciate nature, and be grateful for all that nature has given us for life.
Another highland in Pekalongan is the Doro sub-district. One of the famous natural attractions in this area is Bengkelung Park.
Located in Sidoharjo village, Doro sub-district, Pekalongan, Bengkelung Park is a natural tourist attraction that presents rock cliffs and clear mountain streams. The distance from Kajen is about forty minutes, the road to Bengkelung Park is a village, a durian forest, and a rubber forest.

With IDR 10k, visitors can enter the Bengkelung Park area as much as they want. This place is open every day at 09.00 a.m- 04.00 p.m.
Visitors also get a traditional food called Lepet as a welcome snack.
Lepet
Lepet is a traditional Indonesian food made from glutinous rice, red beans, grated coconut and salt. The lepet is wrapped in coconut leaves and then boiled for about two hours. This food is usually served when there is an important event at home. According to the story of parents, this traditional food contains the meaning of apology.
Bengkelung Park deliberately provides lepet as a welcome snack to preserve Indonesian culture.

This place attracts so many visitors because there are many photo spots. From the main, visitors can pose in front of the 'Welcome' door.
After entering, visitors will pass down a path and can see the beautiful scenery below. Here on the left, there are huts for resting. The facilities here are also equipped with a prayer room and toilet.
bamboo bridge
Visitors can take photos on this bridge with the background of the Bengkelung Park cliffs. This bridge crosses both sides of the river. Made of bamboo and tied with black rope.
Playing in the water
This place is liked by children, because the bottom, the water depth does not reach one meter. Visitors can take photos on the big rocks in the middle of the river. However, visitors still have to be careful, because the current is very strong
