And all these traditional houses are still functioning today and are inhabited by the original Batak family and the descendants of the original Siallagan king. These successors are the ones who continue the tradition to this day, even though currently the punishments that apply are official punishments from the Republic of Indonesia, native people believe they must continue to uphold existing traditions and obey regional regulations which are wrapped in the strong traditions of the Batak tribe.
