For those, like me, who don't know much about flowers, I explain that the butterfly is Cuba's national flower, and at least the five friends on the trip had only seen white butterflies. However, nature gave us yellow butterflies, giving us another experience to share.
Throughout the trip, we were able to appreciate other types of flowers that beautify this place and grow naturally, and which, according to our expert friend, are of incalculable use and beauty.

I must say that, despite my 58 years of age, I'd never heard the word "shade," and thanks to my cell phone, I was able to look up its meaning to find out exactly where I was. According to the phone, a shade is a place covered with branches or something else that allows air to pass through, to protect plants from the sun's harsh rays.
The place has a wide variety of flowers, among which you can find Butterfly Orchid, Vicarious Orchid, Rose Orchid, Earth Orchid, Parasite Orchid, Pacific Sea Orchid, or Poppy, as we call it in Cuba, Heliconia, Anthurium, among others.
But there aren't just flowers here. There's also a wide variety of plants, which, for people like my wife, a plant lover, was a blessing because she was able to buy some that now grace our terrace.
On our way back from our tour, we also found other places that enriched our adventure, such as the Coffee and Chocolate Houses, where, in addition to enjoying a few cups of these delicious beverages, you can also learn about the history of these two products, so coveted by humans.
At the chocolate house, they sold us various items, Plants and animals made from chocolates were a delight to eat.
When we got home, my wife was grateful for this natural gift.

Este fue un viaje diferente porque no estaba en la ciudad ni tenía como protagonista a las grandes edificaciones, museos u hoteles. Este fue un viaje ecológico, refrescante y en constante contacto con la naturaleza.
Debo reconocer que aprendí mucho en este paseo y, para los que conocen, saben que me hace muy feliz divertirme aprendiendo. En fin, los invito a este viaje maravilloso que tuve al Umbráculo de las Flores.
Lo primero que debo explicar es que el Umbráculo de las Flores está en Topes de Collantes, una zona natural de Cuba, ubicada en el centro sur del país, que se caracteriza por sus grandes montañas, su clima particular y una riqueza natural significativa. Por esas y otras razones, es una de las zonas de turismo de naturaleza más importantes del país.
Nuestro viaje comenzó por el sendero "La Batata", en el que la vegetación es el protagonista número uno y puedes ver numerosos tipos de árboles como cedros, caobas, algarrobos. Otra cosa que llamó la atención de la experta que teníamos fue ver unas mariposas amarillas. Para los que como yo no tienen mucho conocimiento de las flores les explico que la Mariposa es la flor nacional de Cuba y, al menos, los cinco amigos que íbamos en el viaje solo habíamos visto mariposas blancas, pero, la naturaleza se encargó de regalarnos mariposas amarillas, para que tuviéramos una experiencia más para contar.
En todo el camino pudimos apreciar otros tipos de flores que embellecen ese lugar y crecen de manera natural y que, según nuestra amiga experta, son de una utilidad y bellezas incalculables.
Pero, si pensábamos que habíamos visto muchas flores, nos quedamos maravillados cuando llegamos al Umbráculo de las Flores.
Debo decir que, a pesar de mis 58 años, mis conocimientos de Geografía y recursos naturales nunca habían escuchado la palabra umbráculo y, gracias al teléfono celular, pude buscar su significado para saber exactamente en dónde estaba. Según el teléfono, un umbráculo es un sitio cubierto de ramaje o de otra cosa que da paso al aire, para resguardar las plantas de la fuerza del sol.
El lugar tiene una gran variedad de flores, entre las que puede uno encontrar Mariposas, Vicarias, Rosas, Orquídea de la Tierra, Orquídea Parásito, Mar Pacífico o Amapola, como la llamamos en Cuba, Heliconia, Anturium; entre otras.
Pero, no solo hay flores en este lugar. También hay una gran variedad de plantas que, para personas como mi esposa, amante de las plantas, fue una bendición porque pudo comprar algunas que forman parte de nuestra terraza.
De regreso de nuestro recorrido también encontramos otros lugares que enriquecieron nuestra aventura como las Casas del Café y el Chocolate en los que, además de poder disfrutar de unas tazas de estas ricas bebidas, también puedes saber de la historia de ambos productos tan apetecidos por los seres humanos.
En la casa del chocolate nos vendieron diferentes objetos, plantas y animales hechos de chocolates que consumirlos fueron una delicia.
Cuando llegamos a casa, mi esposa agradeció este regalo natural.
