The trip began at Guanabo Beach, an iconic spot in the Cuban capital, where we met some children from a group of interests whose goal is to collect beach waste and keep it as clean as possible.

The Project

Immediately, and almost without arriving, we began taking photos. But, contrary to what one might think, the photos were not for posing, but rather to identify the existing coastal and geographical features, the geological beauty, the quality of the waters, and the combination of blue and green colors that distinguished the ecosystems and landscapes we had to study.
Clean, crystal-clear waters, flat or undulating terrain, green vegetation, and many other natural beauties.
The study we were to do would be enjoyable because amidst such beauty and tranquility, it couldn't be any other way.
We completed our research and had to hurry because returning home would take some time.

Rarely have I been so eager to stay in a workplace. It must be that when someone loves what they do and does what they love, they don't feel the passage of time or simply prefer to stay and admire the natural beauty of the place.

Debo decir que fue un viaje que tuvo varios destinos, pues, formó parte de un proyecto de investigación que se ejecuta en el Instituto de Geología y Paleontología/Servicio Geológico de Cuba.
Este proyecto en cuestión trata de medir el Índice de Vulnerabilidad Costera de nuestro país y se enmarca en un macroproyecto que tiene como objetivo mediar el avance e incremento del nivel del mar, hasta el año 2100.
Sin más, los invito a este viaje, al conocimiento y al mundo natural de Canasí.
Inicio del viaje
El viaje comenzó por la playa Guanabo, lugar emblemático de la capital cubana, y donde pudimos coincidir con algunos niños que están en un círculo de interés que tiene como objetivo recoger desechos de las playas y mantenerla lo más limpia posible.
En este lugar, el jefe del proyecto y otros investigadores nos explicaron la importancia del proyecto, los trabajos realizados, sus objetivos y las acciones que tomarán los gobiernos cuando ellos terminen su investigación.
El proyecto
El proyecto en cuestión toma el nombre de la costa que se esté investigando y su objetivo esencial es medir el Índice de Vulnerabilidad Costera y las posibilidades de las costas de reclamar todo lo que el hombre le ha quitado.

Arcos de Canasí
Cuando llegamos a los Arcos de Canasí no podíamos creer el paraíso que teníamos ante nuestros ojos.
De manera inmediata y, casi sin llegar al lugar comenzamos a tirar fotos, pero, contrario a lo que se pueda pensar, las fotos no eran para posar, sino, para determinar los accidentes costeros y geográficos existentes, las bellezas geológicas, la calidad de las aguas y la combinación de colores azules y verdes que distinguían los ecosistemas y paisajes que teníamos para estudiar.
Aguas limpias y cristalinas, relieves llanos u ondulados, vegetación verde y muchas bellezas naturales más.
El estudio que debíamos hacer sería algo agradable porque en medio de tanta belleza y tranquilidad no podía ser de otra manera.
Hicimos nuestras tareas de investigación y debíamos apurarnos porque el regreso a nuestros hogares llevaba algo de tiempo.
Regreso
Pocas veces he tenido tantas ganas de quedarme en un lugar de trabajo. Debe ser que, cuando alguien está amando lo que hace y haciendo lo que ama, no siente el paso del tiempo o sencillamente prefiere quedarse admirando las bellezas naturales del lugar.
Un comentario final
Cuando llegué a la casa y descargué las imágenes, quedé sorprendido de la belleza natural de este lugar, al que debo volver, pero en plan turista, para disfrutar con mi esposa y amistades.
