Hi Everyone,
On our way to visit Avoca Market, we went past Avoca Lake which was around 1.5hrs drive from Sydney. The lake passes various locations from North Avoca to Avoca Beach where it is a popular spot for those who want to families visit to either swim or hire canoe or kayak going up and down the lake. When we arrived, the weather was sunny but the temperature was pretty cool so we only saw 1 person on the lake on a stand up paddle board enjoying the water all by themselves.
We were told by locals that along the lake, there are great spots of picnics and some shady spots to enjoy the weather. Close by, there is Avoca Market which opens once a month with many local stores selling their produce. It is one of the biggest markets in the area and is well liked by visitors including myself.
As a side trip from Avoca Lake, you can visit Terrigal or Avoca Beach for a nice meal as there are some nice options there. Another side visit could be Captain Cook lookout not far from the lake at Copacabana for some amazing views. Although its a quick stop but it was a nice little visit especially our boys waving to the person on the paddle board but I kept on telling them they won't wave back as they needed to concentrate and not full into the lake.
