Burj Khalifa(Dubai), we climbed to the roof of the world
Hello travelers
At the end of December 2023, we were still in Dubai and we were not getting ready to go back home to celebrate the end of the year, but we were getting ready to climb the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa.
A dream carried in my wish list for a very long time has now come true, and yes, if you are in Dubai do not miss a visit here even if you have to wait quite a long time, but stay with me and I will tell you step by step how we experienced the experience of being on the roof of the world.
If you visit my older posts, you'll find blogs here in Dubai where I show you what I've been up to around here, maybe some of them might be useful for you too.
To move from one place to another we used the subway (outside rush hours is an excellent means of public transportation), just like that we arrived in the Dubai Mall area and after a short walk we were already in front of a building that seems to exceed the sky.
All the entrance tickets to the sights we visited we bought online, and we also had some combination tickets so the price was a bit lower, we paid 175lei/35euro/person to get to the 124th and 125th floors, not at sunset, for this experience the tickets were more expensive.
But let me explain how things work.
There are several different ways to visit the Burj Khalifa, you can visit floors 124, 125 for one price, but you can choose to go even higher to floors 148, 152, here everything changes as well as the price of the tickets, here you can have the experience of watching the sunset sitting at a secluded table without being disturbed by hundreds of tourists, so this last option is more intimate.
We opted for the first option to visit floors 124 and 125, I really wanted to be there.
But before we go up, as I like to say, on the roof of the world, let me show you what the tallest building in the world looks like from the fountains in front of the Burj Khalifa.
The fountains area in Dubai is another magnificent place where every evening at 6 pm amazing shows take place, tourists can see here the most spectacular water game in the world that raises the water up to 150 meters, but the show itself is amazing, access to these shows of the fountains is free, but unfortunately we did not see any even if the shows are every 30 minutes, it was so crowded that we could not find a place where we could see the show.
We leave behind the fountains area and head towards Dubai Mall, we don't go shopping, we go to go up to the 124th floor.
Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world at a whopping 828 meters. And that's not the only record this skyscraper holds, as it has the tallest usable floor, the most floors and the fastest elevator in the world. The Burj Khalifa took about 7 years to build. On January 4, 2010, the moment had arrived: the Burj Khalifa had opened. In total, the project cost around €1 billion. When the building was inaugurated, the tower was named "Burj Dubai". It was later renamed after the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayid Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi. The reason was the assistance given for the construction of Burj Khalifa. He helped Dubai's 'Tower of Debt' with a contribution of one million.
The Burj Khalifa is the center of Downtown Dubai. The part of the city called Downtown was thanks to the huge tower. Architect Adrian Smith designed this gigantic skyscraper. Emaar Properties, the company that owns the project, implemented the enormous construction of the project.
Even if we already had our tickets online we still had to wait in line, I forgot to tell you that there is a possibility to buy more expensive tickets but not to wait in line (this is their name but the facts on the spot is something else).
After more than an hour and a half of standing in line, without anyone there to ask you if you need a bottle of water, so if you come here to come prepared with water, lots of water, we get in line with tourists who bought tickets with fast access.
And here we discovered that the waiting time was 45 minutes, ufffffffffffffffff, but calmly after more than two hours of standing in a row we manage to see the elevator going up to the 124th floor.
Even the elevator ride up which took a minute was an amazing experience, but the real beauty was only when we got to the edge near the glass wall where we could see the whole city.
Below you can see the evolution of work on the Burj Khalifa over the years, amazing.
In the following I will leave you pictures of what we saw from the 124th and 125th floors, speechless.
My dear I hope you enjoyed the Burj Khalifa experience with me, and yes, if you visit Dubai put this place on the map.
THE END!
