Let's travel back in time to Caesarea National Park in Israel
Hello virtual friends
I'm glad to be here with you again after a very nice holiday that I lived through several countries in Europe (I have so many amazing places to share with you).
But here we are together again so today's post is a continuation of my last post in which I introduced you to the Roman Apeduct(here) and today I want to go and discover together the ancient city, Caesarea.
When you visit Israel you need to know that this amazing country has an incredible history, whether we're talking religiously or about sights visited by millions of tourists from all over the world.
Let's explore the beautiful ancient city on the Mediterranean Sea, Caesarea.
Our day starts early in the morning waiting for the train to take us near the entrance to the National Park, the connections we found were not exactly what we needed so from the train station we took a taxi to the entrance of the National Park, otherwise we have to wait more than an hour for the train, we rode very little by taxi.
How to get to Caesarea?
This place is very well known as it is located somewhere in the middle of the distance between Haifa and Tel Aviv, so you can come here by rented car (if it is the case), by public transport or with an organized group (there are many travel agencies in the two cities that make very interesting tours).
Visiting hours differ depending on the time of year but are usually between 8am and 6pm, ending earlier on Fridays (Fridays can be similar to Sundays in non-Muslim countries).
The price of an adult ticket here is 39NIS/10euro.
It is good to know that to visit this place you have to reserve about half a day (we think it is worth spending a lot of time here), but more than that it can be visited at any time of the year.
That's it, we've paid for our tickets and let's start exploring Caesarea, let's see how well thousands of years of history and nature go together, this amazing place is right on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
Let's go inside.
From what I have read on the information boards it seems that Caesarea was originally a port that was named after Caesar himself, being a vital point for the economy, having the advantage of opening to the sea.
I took a few steps inside on the dusty roads and lo and behold, the Amphitheatre appeared before me, an impressive place that used to host important events
I also saw some remnants of the theatre, time has left its mark on this place too.
We continue our way to the old harbour and explore more parts of the city after which we arrive right in the heart of Caesarea, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
As I said you will need a few hours to explore the wonders of this city, in case you get hungry or thirsty know that here you will find places where you can relax and enjoy the chic terraces.
In conclusion I can say that visiting this place is a true experience that perfectly combines history, going back in time and nature that seems to fit like a glove.
Some rules to follow here.
I hope I managed to show you as much of this place as possible because it is huge.
So if you happen to be in Israel or are planning a visit here don't forget to put this exciting place on your map, it really is worth it.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.
P.S. The attached pictures you have just seen are taken by me with my mobile phone(and the combined picture is also made with the phone), and the text is also designed by me.
