Stâna de Vale(Shepherd's Valley), the pearl of the Vlădeasa mountains in Bihor county, forgotten and abandoned in time
Hello everyone
Last week I remembered the old mountain resort Stana de Vale in Bihor county, so last weekend we decided to visit it to see what has changed in the resort.
Where is Stâna de Vale(Shepherd's Valley)?
This resort is located in Bihor county, in the Vlădeasa mountains, at an altitude of about 1200 meters, it is not at a high altitude, but even so here in the winter season three parts of skiing are practicable.
I don't know what has happened to this resort that it has declined so much in recent years, it has become almost a ghost, and when there was a pandemic it was effectively a deserted resort.
Let's hit the road.
From the area where I live to here it was about two and a half hours, from what I have observed since our last visit here, the road infrastructure has improved a lot, even now when we were there they are still working on a stretch of road.
Being a mountain resort the road to here was very nice all the nature is green and the arch draws you to hike through the forest.
Yes, I have to tell you that from here from the resort you can do different trails of different difficulty depending on your physical condition.
Let's see what we can do around the resort.
Being early in the morning at first glance it seemed to me that there are few tourists here, the first thing we wanted to see was the "Spring of Wonders"-Izvorul Minunilor, a spring that is said to have the purest spring water in Romania.
After a few minutes of driving on a not so good road we managed to arrive, here in front of the center of the resort we met some tourists.
We stayed for a while around the spring, refreshed ourselves a bit with spring water and then went back to the center of the resort to do some activities that we learned about on the internet.
Does anyone know what this machine is called and what it is used for?
I am extremely curious if this type of machine is still found in other parts of the world.
This is a former railway station in Romania, from here the barriers were manually closed when trains passed.
Today, as you can see in the picture, the vegetation has taken over and probably in a few years you will not even see that there is a building there.
Of all the activities available in the resort we chose ,,Bobul Montan,, and ,,Tubing,, besides these we also saw an adventure park, zip line, theme park for children, dino park, a train and many others.
Sometime around noon we noticed that tourists started to come and the resort became a bit more lively.
Very quickly we managed to purchase tickets for Bobul Montan and Tubing.
The cost of a mountain bob ride was 30lei/6euro and a tubing ride was 8lei/1,6euro, good prices to bring some fun and adrenaline into our lives.
Here you can purchase tickets for various activities.
There are plenty of places to relax.
Bobul Montan is a kind of sled that runs on this aluminium bar (I think), with which you can run up to 40 km/h.
From the beginning to somewhere at the top of the slope you are pulled by a chairlift-like mechanism, when you reach the top of the slope it will let you go and you with a sled lever will control the speed of your descent.
The feeling is unique and the adrenaline is at its peak.
This is the tubing part, which means you climb up a round colac and slide down a ramp that will launch you into the air on an inflatable mattress.
If you're having fun here, time passes very quickly and in our case, after having fun here, we went back home because the next day we had to go to work.
On the way back home we stopped at a few places where we took some pictures from the drone to capture some images of these beautiful mountains and especially the road winding through the forest.
How beautifully the road winds through the forest.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.
P.S. The attached pictures you have just seen are taken by me with my mobile phone and drone, and the text is also designed by me.
