Have you ever been to a fairyland?
Today I chose to tell you a fairy tale🧚
At the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains from Romania, in Porumbacu de Sus, there is a place torn from the story books, which the legend says would be the fairyland.
I took the decision to drove 3:30h until this amazing place, situated in Sibiu county🇷🇴
In these fairytale places, unique constructions have appeared in recent years, in Romania, that attract by their beauty dozens of tourists from all over the world, this is how the Castelul de lut "Valea Zânelor"(Clay castle "Fairy Valley" appeared in 2014.
I was here at the end of October, and still nature offered amazing images, on the top of the mountains you could see the snow🏔️
The idea of a couple of townspeople, who were tired of the noise and daily hustle and bustle of the city, so they bought a plot of land and put into practice their unique idea.
Their ideas came to life so that, The clay castle ,, Valea Zanelor ,, or the pension ,, Dealul verde ,, (about which I will talk in a future post) put the Sibiu locality Porumbacu de Sus on the tourist map of Romania.🇷🇴
This place is the ideal place where you can dream with your eyes open, forget about the daily stress, and the urban noise.
The price of an entrance ticket is 10 lei / 2 euros.
Why did I choose to visit this place?
I chose to come here due to the relaxing atmosphere, the rustic, good vibes, the possibility to have a picnic in the Magic Fairy Garden.
When everything came to life this location can host many families with children who simply want to go on a picnic, and you certainly don't want to leave.
The castle is built of environmentally friendly materials (earth, water, straw, clay,sand and concrete)🧱
On the outside, only lime and sand were used, the towers are made of river stone, the roof is made of shingles.
The castle has 10 rooms, each one unique, but it also has a shop where you can buy something sweet or a souvenir.
I left from there with the idea that you can be lazy here for a long time without disturbing anyone.
