Laguna de Oviedo, Pedernales.
On the last trip I made to Barahona-Pedernales, one of the stops was the Oviedo Lagoon, the largest in the country. I honestly didn't love the experience, because it is very expensive to visit, and it is not in very good condition. But we made the trip and enjoyed it anyway.
En el último viaje que hice a Barahona-Pedernales, una de las paradas fué la Laguna de Oviedo esta es la más grande del país. Sinceramente no me encantó la experiencia, porque es muy caro visitarla, y no está en muy buen estado. Pero de igual forma hicimos el viaje y lo disfrutamos.
When we arrive, they take us on a yola, to take a walk through the mangroves, and to go around some of the keys they have.
The curious thing about this lagoon is that the water is much saltier than the sea water, I imagine that since the level has dropped, it has been accumulating.
Al momento de llegar nos montan en una yola, para dar un paseo por los manglares, y darle la vuelta a algunos de los cayos que tienen.
Lo curioso de esta laguna es que el agua es muchísimo más salada que la del mar, me imagino que como ha bajado el nivel, se ha ido acumulando la misma.
It has a very interesting variety of birds, I do not remember the name of any. I only remember that we almost saw flamingos, but just 2 days before they migrated.
They have a lot of wildlife, iguanas, crabs and what we were told were bats, but I didn't see any.
The truth is that this is a visit you can make once, if I return it is to see the flamingos.
Tiene una variedad muy interesante de aves, no recuerdo el nombre de ninguna. Solo recuerdo que casi veíamos flamencos, pero justo 2 días antes emigraron.
Tienen mucha fauna, iguanas, cangrejos y según nos dijeron murciélagos, pero no ví ninguno.
La verdad es que es una visita que se puede hacer una vez, si vuelvo es para ver los flamencos.
