Since I have read many posts of Da Lat city of Viet Nam these days, I wondered where else I could take my time to drop by at the weekend. Luckily, one of my best friend living in Ha Noi recommended me Moc Chau plateau for a change of air.
If Da Lat is known as the city of thousand flowers for Southerners, Moc Chau plateau is famous for tea hills, ethnic villages and the peaceful vibe for Norlenders.
Where is Moc Chau?
Moc Chau plateau situated in a highland about over 1000 metres above sea level and 200 kilometers from Ha Noi capital, Viet Nam. Thanks to its great geography, Moc Chau Plateau has several picturesque pine woods, green meadows, great streams, some herds of milk cow and waterfalls.
Is there anything special here attracting me?
I came to Moc Chau in the early winter season with the extreme cold with one of my friend who I met on the trip in Myanmar. Because I am a big fan of tea planatation, choosing a sweet homestay between the green field was a must I have to do before reaching here.
Moc Chau actually brought the strange feeling for me during my stay which I could not work it out!
The first thing attracted me here is the windswept green fields that I can enlarge my eyes to the horizon. In addition to, flowery fields also embellished for the beauty of nature by a mas of white and green colour of turnip flowers.
Sunlight was the second things forced me to notice in a sudden. It blended with the landscape is like a water-color painting with moutains, grass carpets, created a depressing yellow on the hill with a commanding view of the valley below.
The 3rd thing which I could not forget at all is the white color of plum covering all the valley. Sometimes, I still could not understand why I am fond of this fruits with its flower such a beer drinker all the time.
These are out-of-season plums!
With the small astringent and sweet taste, along with striking color combination, these plum orchards have given enormous pleasure for tourists and others who demand. As I know, in each out- of- season plum, the ratio of its consumption always reach at peak in the southern region of Viet Nam. No wonder why Moc Chau is a famous destination for foreigners in general and Vietnamese in particular.
The final thing dragged me here is the playful scenery of ethnic children together in the public yard. This area is inhabited by a lot of Thai and Hmong people who wear their own original costum made from colorful patterned farbric.
Obviously I will be back in the very near future to get more chance to explore more places than my previous trip.
- I am the author of these pictures with 2 different signatures (for who wonders why that is).
- Thank you my friend for putting an idea into my head although you are not here to see it.
