Hello.
How are you all my dear friends. I hope you are all fine. In today's post, I have shared with you Place of Worship "Haridwar Haar Ki Pauri". Haridwar is a holy pilgrimage site on the banks of river Ganga. People who come to Haridwar must take a dip at the Harki Pauri ghat. Taking a dip in the river Ganges is considered sacred for Hindus. Haridwar is a holy place in Uttarakhand state of India. The aarti of river Ganga at Har Ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar is world famous. In today's post, I have shared with you the photographs of Haar Ki Pauri Ghat and information about it.
Aarti of Ganga ji is performed twice daily from Har Ki Pauri Ghat. This Ganga aarti is done between 05:30 am to 06:30 am and in evening between 06:00 to 07:00 pm. These aartis are performed by the priests selected by the Ganga Sabha, where even on normal days, more than three thousand people attend these aartis, while the same number increases to thousands during festivals.
For the best view of the aarti, one can sit on the ghat in front of the temples or one can also sit on the style ghat which is named 'Malviya Dweep'. The chanting of mantras and the sound of bells emanating from temples fills Pauri with supernatural glories.
Har Ki Pauri is one of the holiest ghats of Haridwar with a festive atmosphere every day especially on occasions like Amavasya, Poornima. But along with these, Kumbh Mela, which is celebrated once in every twelve years and Ardh Kumbh Mela held every six years, is famous all over the world. You may be surprised to know that Kumbh Mela is considered to be the largest gathering of pilgrims in the whole world. goes.
The festival of Vaisakhi, also celebrated here with great enthusiasm which is attended by a large number of people, is a huge harvest festival which takes place every year in April. The festival of Diwali, is also celebrated by thousands of people here when the entire Ghat is covered in lights and devotees offer diyas to the holy river. The 'Chhath' festival, an East Indian festival to celebrate the Sun God, is also celebrated with great pomp.
The literal meaning of the word 'Ra ki Pauri' - "Har" means "Lord Shiva", "means" and "Pauri" means "step". Lord Vishnu is believed to have visited the Brahmakund at Har ki Pauri. The Ghat got its name from the footprints of Lord Vishnu, traces of the same are present on a stone of the Ghat. Har Ki Pauri also hosts famous fairs like Ardh Kumbh Mela, Vaisakhi festival, Kanwar Yatra and Magh Mela during which lakhs of devotees take bath at Har Ki Pauri Ghat.
Hari ki Pauri is one of the holiest ghats of Haridwar and is the only place where all spiritual activities take place. Har ki Pauri is a revered place which is visited by a large number of devotees and visitors to offer their prayers after having darshan of the holy Ganges.
Har Ki Pauri, one of the most sacred ghats of India, has a history dating back more than twenty centuries, the credit of which is attributed to King Vikramaditya. Har Ki Pauri was built in the memory of Bharati, brother of King Vikramaditya, who meditated here on the banks of the river Ganges. The exact place where the evening and morning aartis take place is known as 'Brahmkund', it is believed that 'drops' of 'nectar' fell at this place. This ghat has also been renovated several times from time to time. The first expansion was done in 1938 by Hargyan Singh Katara, a Zamindar of Agra in Uttar Pradesh and again in 1986.
First of all, whenever you visit Har Ki Pauri, make sure to attend the evening aarti. Note that the flow of river Ganga is very high at Har Ki Pauri Ghat, so never cross the barricade while taking a dip. While drowning in the river, keep your clothes and belongings in a safe place, many times incidents of fraud and missing goods have also come to the fore. During festivals and festivals, there is a lot of crowd here, so if you are coming during this time, then be a little cautious and careful and if you have children with you, then take special care of them.
Although devotees can visit Har Ki Pauri at any time of the year but the best time to visit Har Ki Pauri is during the summer months i.e. from March to the end of June. One would like to avoid the winter season (October – February) as it gets quite cold. Apart from these, you can also come here during holy festivals like Ganga Dussehra, Amavasya, Purnima, Vaisakhi.
