How are you all my dear friends? I hope you are all fine. In today's post, I have shared a Photographs of Beautiful City Darjeeling. We visited Darjeeling during the Tzongari trek. The Tzongari trek will be the most memorable of all my treks as I have seen the most snow during this trek and experienced the coldest as no other trek has done. Which is why this trek I will never forget in my life. We also visited Darjeeling during the Tzongari trek. Darjeeling is one of the most famous hill stations in India. People come from far and wide to enjoy the natural beauty of Darjeeling. In today's post I have shared with you a few photographs describing the beauty of Darjeeling.
Darjeeling is located in the north of the state of West Bengal and is situated in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. The districts of Darjeeling share borders with countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal. It is situated at an altitude of 2134 m above sea level and is surrounded by various Buddhist monasteries and the mighty peaks of the Himalayas. The valleys here are very attractive and it is a famous hill station.
Darjeeling is not only famous all over the world because of tea, but also because of its beauty, this city attracts tourists from all over the world. Most of the residents here are Buddhists and in Darjeeling mostly Nepali and Bengali languages are spoken. There are many places to visit in Darjeeling, but there is also a good option of shopping here. This is the reason why lakhs of people visit Darjeeling every month.
Darjeeling is derived from two Tibetan words Dorje and Ling. Dorje signifies thunderbolt while linga means area or spot. That's why Darjeeling is famous for thunderstorms or strong lightning in the sky. Rangit Valley Ropeway of Darjeeling is the largest ropeway in Asia. While traveling by this ropeway, you will find yourself amidst the clouds and you can also see the view of the green tea gardens below which is quite enchanting.
Darjeeling Railway is popularly known as "Toy Train" due to its two feet narrow gauge track. Toy train ride facility is available only in Darjeeling, due to which it is considered special. The toy train moves at a very slow speed, so that you can enjoy the beauty and natural scenery of Darjeeling. Let us tell you that the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1919.
Darjeeling is a paradise for tea lovers. Even if you are not a tea lover, you can visit the sprawling tea gardens like Happy Valley Tea Estate.
You can be friendly with the local people of Darjeeling and listen to the myriad tales and ghost stories surrounding the estates here. People never forget to take a sip of the aromatic Darjeeling tea.
Darjeeling is very diverse in both cultures and religions. Due to which the market here is very wide. You can buy local handicrafts, different fabrics from existing cultures, Buddhist artifacts, Tibetan carpets and much more from Darjeeling. Apart from this, Darjeeling tea and Himalayan honey are also very famous.
