Hello everyone! how are you today? Hope we all have a great weekend. Do you want to go somewhere this weekend? The weekend is a time for us to relax after a working week. Our time is the same, only 24 hours a day. Weekends are always a great time, for us to rest and start a new working week. It will be very enjoyable if we, can spend the weekend to be able to go somewhere. To be able to discover the beauty of nature. I was born and raised in a rural area of Quang Nam, after finishing grade 12. I chose Da Nang city as the next place for my university years. When I stepped foot in Da Nang in the first days, I liked this city very much, considering it as my second home. After 4 years of university, I chose Da Nang city as the place to start my career. As of today, I have lived in Da Nang for 9 years. The reason that I choose this place as my starting place is because Da Nang is one of the liveable and dynamic cities of Vietnam. Although this place is not as developed and vibrant as the big cities of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. But when you come to Da Nang, I'm sure you will like it as much as I do. This city is endowed with natural mountain scenery, along with beautiful beaches. In addition to the above beauty, the people here are also very friendly and hospitable. It is the above reasons that have made me stick with and choose Da Nang as the place to start my dreams. I am very proud to share the beautiful places of Da Nang city in my articles. In my previous articles, I wrote about a lighthouse located on the Son Tra peninsula, in today's article, I will continue to write the next beautiful places of the Son Tra peninsula.
It is great that Da Nang owns a coastline of more than 70km, besides beautiful beaches, many high mountains are surrounding the city. One of the most mentioned is the Son Tra peninsula. This place is one of the places that combine natural forest and sea ecosystems. Son Tra peninsula is located 8km from the center of Da Nang city. Son Tra is a primeval forest with a cool climate all year round. The period from March to September is the right time for tourists to visit the Son Tra peninsula. To facilitate travel when visiting the peninsula, I will guide everyone along an appropriate route to visit this place.
The first place on my trip today is a freshwater lake located at the foot of Son Tra mountain. This area is located 9km from the center of Da Nang city. This is one of the largest freshwater lakes of the Son Tra peninsula. This place is named by the people as Green Lake.
Da Nang Green Lake is one of the places with beautiful natural scenery. The lake is located with its back to the mountain, surrounding the lake is covered with green trees. There are many smooth green lawns, making the scenery here very poetic. When visiting Green Lake, you will not have to spend any money. This place is decorated with beautiful miniatures for visitors to take photos and this place is one of the most favorite wedding photography locations, that any couple wants to be photographed here. Although this place is located not too far from the center of Da Nang city, when you come to Green Lake, you will feel like you are lost in a quiet and peaceful world. I went early in the morning today, so the place was very empty. The parking area has a place decorated with Bohemian-style Dreamcatcher rings, below is a Love letter. I think these decorations will be suitable for wedding photography and people in love. Go to an area close to the lake, decorated with beautiful wedding flower gates to take pictures. It will be very interesting, when someone can take a souvenir photo for me here. Standing here, I can see the sun that has not yet fully risen behind the mountain. The lake is very calm at this time, the sunlight shines on the trees, making the colors stand out here. To the right of the lake area, there is a small path that leads me down to the lake area.
Standing from above, I can see under the lake area, there are many people taking pictures. Taking a close-up zoom, I saw them setting up their bicycles, on top of wooden rafters to take pictures to check-in here. I can guess that they are riding exercise bikes, stopping by the area to rest and take pictures. I also love cycling but have not had time to practice this subject. Surely one day, I will visit the Son Tra peninsula with my bicycle. I sat by the lake area, for a very long time, waiting for them to leave. To get to the area the rafts are made of wood. After they had left the place, I moved closer, so that I could walk to the wooden raft. This raft is quite precarious, it is easy to fall when standing here. On the wooden rafts, grown a lot of wild weeds, their vitality is very intense. Standing here, I understand why this place is named Green Lake. The high mountains, the quiet lake surface with clear blue water, the lush green trees make this place very peaceful and romantic.
Standing from the bottom of the lake, looking up at the mountain, there is a space. That place is Bai Chay. If going from the Green Lake area to Bai Chay, it only takes less than 1km. It has majestic rocky mountains and very poetic wild landscapes. Standing from above, we can see the Green Lake area. And beyond that is Da Nang beach and high-rise buildings inside the city. It's only about 8 am at this time, the sky is really clear today. It will be very suitable for walking the beaches, below the mountains.
Looking at the beaches from above, I was able to capture the beautiful coastline of Da Nang city. Long stretches of white sand, curving along the mountainside. In the distance is Da Nang city, the beaches are located on Son Tra peninsula, many beautiful rocky beaches are protruding out of the water.
I used my lens to zoom in on the biggest rock in this place. That is Hon Sup, this is one of the places located far away from the mainland of Da Nang. To get to the island, we can travel by self-driving SUP boat or coastal boat.
The way to the beaches below the mountain is also very easy, I will take you to one of the beaches with many rocky shores below, which is Bai Da. From Bai Chay area to reach the beaches under the sea, it only takes about 5km. I will continue on the Hoang Sa road, pass by Linh Ung pagoda to reach Bai Da. Bai Da is one of the favorite places of Da Nang people on summer days. There are many beautiful beaches here. When you come here, you will not spend any sightseeing tickets, except for the parking ticket which is 10,000 Vnd, equivalent to less than half a US dollar. After parking the car in the area above the mountain, I walked down the stairs to the area below the sea. In addition to the name Bai Da, this place also has another name, Obama Beach, the name Obama people will think of the name of the former US president, not because the US president, who had come here like some rumor. But this name is given by the people here, the purpose is to create curiosity and attract many people to this place.
Bai Da is an unspoiled beach, located far from the city center, so it is known by very few tourists. Most of the people who come here are people of Da Nang city. On hot summer days, on weekends Da Nang people choose this place as a place to cool off, avoiding the intense heat of summer. The beaches are still very unspoiled, many large rocks are lying under the sea surface, which is stacked to create a very unique scene.
In Bai Da, there are many temporary houses made of wood, but this wooden house is rented and used by tourists during the day. People can rent these houses for 300 thousand Vnd each (equivalent to 10 US dollars), so they can stay with their friends to avoid the sun and have fun here. The area also has many seafood restaurants, allowing people to enjoy the taste of the seafood. The seafood here is very fresh because the fishermen who sail the boat provide fresh seafood for the day.
The most beautiful time of the day at Bai Da is in the afternoon, the sunset here can be said to be the most beautiful of Da Nang beaches. Located to the west, we can watch the sunset diving into the sea at Bai Da. This morning, many young people went to this beach to take pictures, and a few people came here to fish early in the morning. On the left-hand side of the beach is a wide sandy beach. The seawater here is quite calm, it will be very safe to swim here on big wave days. Besides, the sandy beach are high rocky shores, from here I can observe the city of Da Nang and Linh Ung Pagoda, a tall Buddha statue, built inside this temple.
I used a telephoto lens, it helps me capture places from far away. I took a photo of Marble Mountain from afar, which is also a famous tourist destination of Da Nang city.
Fishing boats are run around this area, below this sea there are many different types of fish. There are also boats moored from the far shore to avoid running aground. The houses made of wood, thatched with dry leaves are very beautiful next to the big rocks under the sea. This is just one of the places located in the Son Tra peninsula, there are many beautiful pristine beaches of Son Tra peninsula, which I have not introduced. I will introduce it in the next posts, in my blog.
