Today is the second day of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, normally on the first day of the Vietnamese New Year, Vietnamese people will visit the graves of their ancestors and visit their family members. two of the Lunar New Year, maybe people will go to the temples. Going to the temple at the beginning of the year has been a beautiful custom of the Vietnamese people for generations. Every year on the first days of spring, everyone prepares to go to the temple in the hope of a peaceful, peaceful, and harmonious year. Most Vietnamese people follow Buddhism. The beginning of the new year is the day everyone wants to go to the temple, to pray for a year of favorable weather, easy business, and a happy family. The custom of going to the temple at the beginning of the year has existed since ancient times, most Vietnamese people go to the temple according to family tradition. From generation to generation, visiting temples has long been a daily activity of Buddhists. Everyone who comes to the temple also hopes to find peace for their family, learn the law of cause and effect through Buddhist teachings. From there, they can teach their children and grandchildren to live a better, more benevolent life. Taking refuge in the Buddha's door, amid a pure space, fragrant incense, and the color of flower lights, each of us will feel lighter and more peaceful. Buddha is the one who understands the truth. He discovered the nature of suffering and happiness, in life and then guided us in the practice of methods, to get rid of suffering and lead our being to peace. Worshiping Buddhism is not about worshiping some powerful supernatural being but remembering the great man who sacrificed himself for everyone to receive the invaluable lessons of the Buddhist scriptures. The gate of Buddha-land is a pure place, with the desire to find peace, shake off the worries and worries of the past year and pray for peace and happiness in the first days of the new year after the new year's eve has just dawned. 2nd day of Lunar New Year. Everyone will go to the temple to pray for peace and good luck. A temple is a spiritual place for people to immerse themselves in a pure place, leaving behind the chaos of life, their hearts will be lighter and more peaceful.
In today's post, I will introduce to everyone a temple located in Da Nang city. This temple is called Nam Son Pagoda. Nam Son Pagoda has located about 11km from the center of Da Nang city, to the south. The address of this temple is located at Nguyen Kha Trac street, Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district, Cam Le district, Da Nang city. To get to the temple, we can move here by many different means, such as taxis, buses, or self-driving motorbikes. The temple will be open to visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the same day. Nam Son Pagoda was built in 1962. Built by the efforts and hands of Buddhist Nguyen Van Chau and some local Buddhists, the current abbot of Nam Son Pagoda is Venerable Thich Hue Phong. The architecture of Nam Son pagoda was designed by the abbot of Dai Duc pagoda, Thich Hue Phong. The temple has a core style from ancient times, including many different areas, such as Zen Monastery, Vong Nguyet Dai, Phong Sinh Aquarium, Main Hall, Parking, Guest House... visiting tourists. Nam Son Pagoda is also located near the roads connecting other famous tourist attractions of Da Nang city, such as Non-Nuoc scenic spot, Nam Son pagoda just 7km from Non-Nuoc and 20km from Hoi An ancient town. very convenient for tourists to visit.
The rows of houses in the pagoda are all gilded with many meticulous and sophisticated carvings imbued with oriental culture. When coming here, visitors will be very impressed by the main hall, built in the architectural style of the Northern Triangle, with the design trend of the Hue Royal Palace which is extremely prominent. When you stop here, you can fully feel the majestic, magnificent and harmonious atmosphere of one of the beautiful pagodas in Da Nang. If Son Tra district has the famous Linh Ung pagoda, Ngu Hanh Son district has the famous Quan The Am temple, then Nam Son pagoda is the most famous temple of Cam Le district. Arriving at Nam Son Pagoda in Da Nang, visitors will understand why this place is known as "the place where the fairyland". In the fresh air here, you seem to get rid of your worries. From the hustle and bustle of everyday life to inner peace and relaxation. Sightseeing and sightseeing will also be more comfortable thanks to the enthusiasm and friendliness of the monks here. You will see parking instructions, directions, and some rules in the temple. To make the journey more complete, do not miss the opportunity to listen to the teachings of the prisons, towards a true, good, and beautiful lifestyle. I will introduce each area in this temple so that everyone can understand the beauty of the temple here.
When entering the temple, visitors will first admire the Phong Sanh aquarium, located in the center of the temple, with crystal clear blue water, on the full moon day of the lunar month every month, Buddhists will arrive. Here release fish freed. The road across the lake is arranged in a cross shape, forming a crossroads leading to all the nooks and crannies. Walking along with the garden of Nam Son pagoda in Da Nang, visitors can enjoy the sun and wind in a fresh green space, with all kinds of flowers, leaves, luxuriant fruit trees, some call it "royal garden", peaceful beauty Meditation becomes a feature that you can only find in Buddhist holy places.
After passing through the royal garden area, visitors will come to Vong Nguyet Communal House. True to its name, Vong Nguyet Communal House is a place to watch the moon, so it is located in a spacious location with an open view, allowing people to look up at the sky, watch the clouds and the moonshine. At the same time, you can also turn your eyes to the lake, to see the fish swimming around. Waves of water rippled beside the flowers under the water. In Vong Nguyet communal house, there is also a statue of Quan The Am Buddha, facing the main hall of the temple. Buddhists will pray here first, before entering the main hall of the temple.
To reach the main site of the temple, visitors will cross the Tripitaka bridge. The Tripitaka Bridge is quite short, but it is an indispensable highlight of the flower garden below the Tripitaka Bridge. Around Tripitaka, the bridge is planted with a lot of fresh flowers and trees. Almost no sunlight can hit the bridge directly. Because trees and flowers have gently covered the bridge, it is difficult for sunlight to shine down. From time to time there is a ray of sunshine through the leaves, like a small dotted highlight on the bridge. It adds a peaceful beauty to the bridge. It is an impressive feature in the quiet room of the temple. The main colors of Nam Son pagoda are orange-yellow and brick yellow. Combined with the green color of Phong Sanh Lake, the green color of nature and plants, it will help your mood to be relaxed when standing on the Tam Tang bridge.
After going through the Tripitaka Bridge, visitors will reach the main hall of the temple. The main hall of Nam Son Pagoda will have the Main Room with a small space, allowing natural light to shine through. The main hall is the most important part of the temple, as it displays the main Buddha images from Buddhist temples in Vietnam. The main hall will have different altars. In some pagodas, there is also a shrine to worship the gods behind the main hall to worship Buddha. The main hall of Nam Son pagoda was built tall, with fine carvings. The pillars are painted with dragons and phoenixes. The main color of the room is yellow as if painted with gold paint. The two sides of the stairs leading to the main room are low partitions. All these partitions are designed in the architectural style of the ancient palace. The appearance of this royal architecture gives visitors a feeling of being overwhelmed and luxurious. When coming to the main hall, visitors will not be able to take pictures inside the main hall, because this is the rule of this temple. Nam Son Pagoda does not bring ancient beauty, serenity, or mysterious and illusory features like other ancient temples, but it is a unique, unique, and pure feature in the Space of Pure Heart. Standing from above, looking down, this place is like a mysterious fairyland with two floors of the temple, the towers are arranged concerning each other without confusing other places. The scene mixed with these towers. The surrounding objects are very vivid with the rows of green trees, the clear water, etc. Nam Son Pagoda creates a unique poetic image that will amaze you. I would love to stay here longer so that I can study Buddhist teachings. How do you feel about this temple, if you come to Vietnam to travel? Do you want to explore Vietnamese temples? For each Vietnamese, going to the pagoda at the beginning of the year is a traditional culture that has existed for a long time, it creates a colorful picture in a beautiful culture imbued with national identity and so on. not only expressing the desire to be happy and full, but also an opportunity to cultivate the Vietnamese spirit, to love and appreciate the original values. At the Buddha's gate, in the middle of pure space, incense radiates peace. With the same color of Hoi An lanterns, I feel my heart soften, lighter. Life is more and more modern and civilized, but people still retain the cultural beauty of going to pagodas at the beginning of the year. I don't know, since when did people turn their hearts to the Buddha's door, to the Buddhist teachings. No one knows where or when the first temple was built, but every village has a pagoda. The temples, whether old or new today, are living entities where each person can find and understand more hidden depths of Vietnamese cultural identity.
I like the Nam Son temple, and I hope you will enjoy it through these photos too. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and have a nice day!
