Kada su se posvadjala braca Romul i Rem, osnivaci Rima, Rem je odlucio da potrazi sa svojom suprugom drugo mesto za zivot. Lutajuci po svetu stigli su do stene na obali reke Dunav bas kad je sunce zalazilo. Sunce je obasjalo stenu crvenom bojom, a reka Dunav poprimila je ruzicastu boju. Pogledavsi u oci svoje supruge video je svu lepotu kako se prelivaju boje crvena, ruzicasta i plava. Ocarani zalaskom sunca, resili su da sagrade ovde svoj dom.
Nacionalna geografija proglasila je ovo mesto za jedno od najlepsih mesta gde zalazi sunce.

Reka Dunav oduvek je privlacila ljude, zbog lova, ribolova, suma i plodne zemlje jos od najranijeg doba. Tako je i ovo mesto,tvrdjava Ram i samo selo Ram koje se nalazi tu poticu jos iz Rimskog doba. Kroz celu istoriju tvrdjava Ram je svedok mnogih ratova i uvek je bila ucesnik. Mnogo puta rusena, osvajana, oslobodjena i obnovljana. Imala je veliku ulogu her se nalazila na raskrsnici puteva kopnenih i vodenih. Obnovio je srednje vekovni Srpski vladar despot Djuradj Brankovic, i Turski Sultan Bajazit ||. U pohodu na Ugarsku Sultan je stao da odmori i zaspao, ocaran lepotom prirode kad se probudio resio je da obnovi tvrdjavu.

Reka Dunav prolazi kroz Srbiju , i predstavlja prirodnu granicu na zapad sa Hrvatskom a na istok sa Rumunijom. Tako da se tvrdjava Ram nalazi u Srbiju na Dunavu na desnoj obali na tom mestu u rasponu od 30km u Dunav ulivaju se cak cetiri reke, Nera, Karas, Mlava i Morava, pa je Dunav miran a jak i veoma sirok, cak 4km.pa moze se preci skelom kako smo i mi presli.

Juzno nizvodno uz Dunav postoji predivan dvorac Golubac, i najveci srednjevekovni utvrdjeni grad Smederevo, isto na Dunavu, Djerdapska klisura, najveca klisura u Evropi, nacionalni park Djerdap, tu je Dunav najsiri i najdublji celim tokom, tu je i Trajanova tabla, kulturno istoriski veoma znacajno mesto, gde je nekad bio Trajanov most, najveci najlepsi kameni most.
