Sheikh Zayed Mosque - the biggest mosque in #UAE and the main sightseeing of its capital - #Abu-Dhabi. It's recognised as the most splendid mosque in the world. Marble, gold and decorations were brought here from all around the world. 3 records of Guinness were achieved here - the biggest and the most expensive chandelier (lamp) and the biggest carpet.
🟧The name of the mosque is honoured to founder of the UAE - Sheikh Zayed ibn Sultan an-Nahayan.
🟧When mass building in UAE started after exploring oil it turned out that the capital becomes very typical business city without any soul because there is no sightseeings and nothing special at all. But they have money - they need to spend them😀. Because the country is islamic - building of mosque was the most logical.
🟧The construction started in 1996 and ended in 2007.
🟧 Capacity - 40000 people.
🟧The funniest thing is that it's not allowed to take pictures ewerywhere - there are marked photopoints for that. There is security ewerywhere and their remind you all the time. At least good that they allow you to take off a mask while taking a picture😂. But I was taking pictures and shooting videos wherever I wanted and nobody forced me to delete anything so you CAN ignore them (My impudence worked good for me😁)
