Let me start with an apology. This post is a little late in its arrival and for that... I'm Sorry :)
You see, the visit to Warwick Castle took place on New Years Day.
New Years Day directly follows New Years Eve and so required a considerable amount of recovery time afterwards.
NYE was an 80's themed party in a local Pub
After a long snooze to sleep off the alcohol, we set off on the journey from Bromsgrove to Daventry.
The route went past Warwick and so the decision was made to stop off and grab a quick bite to eat.
However, one cannot simply visit Warwick without paying a visit to its famous Castle. So that's exactly what we did!
We arrived to this!
I remember going on a trip to the Castle when I was in School. More specifically I can recall everyone being too scared to look in the Dungeon. And my friend David falling down one of the Spiral Staircases because he was too impatient and tried to pass everyone on the small bits.
Warwick Castle was originally built by William the Conquerer and started off as a wooden Fort. Over time it was built into a Strong Hold but now just serves as a Tourist attraction, being owned by the Tussauds Group (The same Company that owns numerous tourist attractions in England)
When we arrived we found that the Castle still had a small Christmas Market Selling Coffee, Sausages, Marshmallows and Waffles.
After a short time exploring, we found that they also had an Ice Rink And..... The Reason for this Post..... A Light Trail!!
I took the photos on a Samsung Galaxy S9. For added enjoyment.. why not try and guess at which point I remembered that the phone had a 'Night Mode' :)
So there you have it. The Warwick Castle Light Trail. Definitely worth a visit if you're anywhere near Warwick next Christmas. And if you take a better camera than I did, or celebrate a little less the night before... your photos will likely come out clearer 😄
