I finally got to visit the Great Wall of China at Juyong Pass, and it was amazing. I’ve always wanted to see it, and being there felt like stepping back in time. Juyong Pass is not far from Beijing, so it was easy to get to, but the views and the history made it feel like a whole different world.
When I got there, it was very foggy. The mountains around the wall were partly hidden due to the fogs, which made everything look magical and mysterious. Sometimes, the wall would appear suddenly out of the fog and then disappear again. It felt like walking in a dream. The fog also made the cold air even stronger, so I wore my coat to stay warm. Even though it was chilly, I didn’t mind at all because the scenery was so beautiful.
The walk to the wall was just as interesting as the wall itself. The road had traditional Chinese designs along it. There were red lanterns, decorated railings, and small bridges with colorful tiles. Everything looked like it was part of an old Chinese painting. Even in the fog, I could see the details clearly, and they made for great photos. I really enjoyed just walking slowly and looking at all the little things.
Near the wall, there were some temples. Their rooftops peeked out from the fog, and the architecture was so pretty and detailed.
I walked around the temples for a while, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Being there made me imagine how people long ago, soldiers, travelers, and villagers might have visited these temples for rest or prayers before continuing along the wall. It felt like a small connection to history.
Walking on the Great Wall itself was incredible. The stones were old and uneven in some places, so I had to watch my step. The fog made the wall look even more mysterious, and the mountains around it were just partially visible.
I stopped many times to take pictures some of the foggy mountains, some of the temples, and some of myself in my coat on the wall. Each photo felt like it was telling a story.
I loved how the wall blends with nature. Even with the fog, I could see green patches on the hills, and the wall followed the curves of the mountains perfectly. It made me think about how much effort it must have taken to build it so long ago. Walking there made me feel a little closer to the people who worked so hard to make this wonder.
Even though it was cold, I felt happy and calm while walking along the wall. The combination of the fog, the cold air, the mountains, and the old stones made the whole experience feel peaceful but exciting at the same time. It was like I was the only person there for a while, and I could really enjoy the view and the history without distractions.
I also liked seeing the traditional designs along the road again on my way back. They reminded me of Chinese culture and how careful people were about details in the past. The red lanterns, the roofs, and the colorful tiles made the walk feel special. I stopped a few times to take photos and just enjoy the moment.
Visiting Juyong Pass was unforgettable. The foggy weather, the temples, the traditional designs, and even the cold that made me wear a coat all added to the experience. Walking on the wall made me feel like I was part of history, and seeing the misty mountains made me appreciate the beauty of nature too.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting China. Even if it’s foggy or cold, it doesn’t take away from the experience it actually makes it feel more magical. Sometimes the quiet, misty moments are the most memorable. I’m glad I went prepared with my coat because it made it easier to enjoy everything.
Being at the Great Wall at Juyong Pass felt like a mix of adventure, culture, and nature. I took a lot of photos to remember it, but standing there in person was even better. I hope one day I can come back, maybe on a sunny day, to see the wall in a different light. For now, I’ll treasure this foggy, cold, magical visit forever.
