With the fourth semester approaching and Jaipur's heat starting to set in, we resolved to take one last breath before plunging into academic mayhem. Jaldhara Park, it was our first visit. This was our last adventure together before we all dispersed for the vacations.
The park, situated quietly close to the Jawahar Circle, was its usual self, green, peaceful and astonishingly cool for a summer morning. We arrived early with the intention of beating the crowd and enjoying the stillness. It seemed as if all of the sudden, the desert we lived in transformed into a green state.
Laughter rang out along the stone sidewalks as we exchanged inside jokes, playfully teased one another and recollected on the previous semester. Some of us were already gearing up to discuss the topics we hated in the upcoming one while others just wanted to be in that moment, off screens, on assignments and free time.
There is something so earthy about seeing water flow down rocks when you're surrounded by friends who are like a second family to you. We sat by the stream, our chats going from serious to ridiculous in seconds.
It was a very beautiful place. There was greenery all around, I believe that "being close to nature gives you peace", this is another example where it became even more evident.
Now, sitting at home writing this, I appreciate how dear that day was. Not for where we were, but for who we were there with. The sort of day you want to bottle and relive when every thing just feels too much.
Here's to Jaldhara Park, it is more than just a park, the backdrop for a memory I will hold me through Semester 4 and beyond.
