Dear friends, our incredible journey through Thailand continues! Staying at the Magical Mountain Resort in Surat Thani feels like stepping straight into Jurassic Park. The landscape is rugged and wild, surrounded by endless stretches of national park in every direction.
In my next blog, I’ll be sharing a true Thai bucket-list experience, riding in a traditional long-tail boat through the breathtaking Khao Sok National Park. But before we set off, we stumbled upon a hidden gem worth mentioning, the charming Bridge Hill Café.
One of the coolest things about Thailand is the sheer number of incredible cafés. Many are themed, hide secret attractions, offer extraordinary views and on top of all that, they consistently serve some of the most delicious food you’ll ever try. In Thailand, cafés aren’t just cafés… they’re experiences.
I opted for a delicious blended dragon fruit smoothie, fresh, vibrant, and absolutely perfect for a hot day. When I’m in Thailand, my go-to drinks are always either a dragon fruit smoothie or an iced Thai tea. It’s also definitely one of the easiest countries I’ve travelled to when it comes to finding vegan options, which makes exploring its café scene even better.
The café sits just off the main road and is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. Perched on tall stilts, it overlooks a lovely garden filled with chickens, ducks, and even a koi pond. For photography lovers, there are suspended lounge nets perfect for relaxing and snapping a few shots. And of course, there’s the main attraction, the wonderfully random “staircase to heaven”, which makes the whole place feel even more extraordinary.
We spent some time just soaking in the spectacular view and appreciating how small you feel standing next to towering mountains. After finishing our drinks, we made our way out to board a long-tail boat. Not only did we get to ride in a traditional long-tail boat, we actually took it all the way out to 500 Rai, an incredible floating bungalow resort tucked deep within Khao Sok National Park.
