I have completed an amazing journey through Rila Mountain, which even though it is over, still holds me in its embrace.
In a few days, besides the incredible emotions I experienced with the heavy backpack on my back, I saw stunning sights that I want to show you.
I'll start with the first day where the trek didn't go as planned, but that didn't stop it from being very fascinating.
The trek started from Kartala Ski Park. We had planned to take the lift from there and hike along the ridge to the Macedonia hut.
We arrived at the ski park. There is a large hotel, a restaurant and a park with children's areas.
But when we went to the place, it turned out that the lift only works on weekends.
So we took the marked path to the Hut.
So we took the marked path to the Hut.
The trip was easy and pleasant. It passed through the valley of the river Bistrica. All around us, nature revealed itself in its dazzling beauty. Besides the beautiful flowers, I saw many useful herbs. There was an abundance of Tanacetum vulgare and Galium. St. John's wort and yarrow were found.
In places, the path went through the forest, where it was shady and even more pleasant.
In places, the river formed stunning shapes on the rocks, and although the slope of the path increased, we were overwhelmed by the beauty around us, we did not feel how we were getting closer to the hut.
Macedonia Hut is located in the Mechi Prohod area at 2166 m above sea level.
When we arrived, there were still many hikers, each on a different route around the mountain.
The hut was very hospitable and they cooked deliciously.
After settling in, we walked around, rested around the lodge and waited for the sunset.
Thus ended the first transition. The next day there was a hike to Fish Lakes Hut, which I will tell you about soon.
Thank you for stopping by!
