It's hard to argue with a sandy beach, right?
Looking north across Lake Superior on this sunny July day, we fell in love with this body of water again.
The island there is Au Train Island which is across Au Train Bay... (We were near the town of Au Train, surprisingly.)
Looking west....
and east...
Lake Superior is larger than all the other Great Lakes put together. It is also the third largest body of freshwater on Earth, behind Lake Baikal and Lake Tanganyika.
My video:
I have a strange break in the middle of this one because my younger daughter decided to run across in front of the camera... I clipped that out, but the sand changed, lol. (The first clip will be made into a relaxation video soon.)
My daughters meeting the lake once more. I was tempted to say "making friends", but this lake makes a tenuous friend at best... her frigid waters has claimed the lives of many sailors over the decades, probably more than 1000 in shipwrecks alone.
We moved further down the beach...
This appeared to be the outlet of the stream from Scott Falls - which we didn't find this time. We'll look for it again in the future.
Another video by myself. I see I didn't zoom it in enough in editing... but you get the idea. This one will also return as a relaxation video soon (zoomed in correctly.)
Photos taken by myself in July 2022 with my Nikon D7200. Videos from my Kodak AZ401.
