A few days ago, I introduced one of the main attractions in Slovenia, the amazing Lake Bled. You can read about it here : @wanderingkat/romantic-lake-bled-slovenia
But as most of us know, the nicest, most magical moments actually happen when you go to smallest, still popular, but less popular hidden gems. There is actually so many amazing places you can find if you decide to do a bit more research of Slovenia, as the country really does offer so many gorgeous places to see. So much nature everywhere.
Many people do find the one I will mention in this post, but some accidentally miss it, which is a real shame. If you do go see Lake Bled, make sure to also visit Vintgar Gorge, which is located only about 5 km from the main attraction.
It is a 1.6 km long gorge, carved by Radovna river amidst the glorious verical walls of Hom and Borst hills, where you can find its waterfalls, pools and rapids.
Walking on the boardwalks along the river, is such a special way to experience the nature and the beauty of this mystical place.
The river is crystal-clear, that will change colours (depending on the time of the day and season) from emerald green to turquoise and all the trees surrounding it, will make you feel like you have been transformed to a fairyland.
Just as with Lake Bled, to avoid crowds, the best time to visit is during Spring and Autumn, as it is nice and warm, but less problems trying to find a park, walking and taking pictures. It also helps getting there as soon as the park opens or a few hours before closing time.
No matter what time you visit though, it's an experience of a lifetime. Take your time with it, breath the clean, fresh air and find your peace with the relaxing river sounds.
Thanks for watching, see you next time hive tribe!
