The little me used to dream big without ever knowing how big did she meant when she said she had big big dreams. As I grew older and wiser, I learned that the big things are actually in the little moments, which make life worth living.
Hi there, wholesome reader!
It has been two months since I turned 27. Today, I decided to share to you how my birthday celebration went and how magical it felt like to me.
The 2nd of June will always be a special day for me, even though on some years, it didn't feel as happy as the others. This is the day I celebrate my life and my mother who brought me into this world, almost three decades ago already.
For my birthday this year, we planned to celebrate my birthday in a beach resort somewhere in the northern part of Cebu. I was so excited for this weekend since it would be the first time for my boyfriend to spend a vacation with my whole family.
We booked a family room in the Tree Sunset Beach Resort in Tabuelan, Cebu for two nights. The place was peaceful compared to the crowded shores of the famous Maravilla Beach, which was just along the resort we chose to book.
The Tree Sunset Beach Resort
On the western side of the island of Cebu, lies the humble town of Tabuelan. The town is known for its beautiful beach namely the Maravilla Beach. This shoreline directly faces the eastern part of our neighboring island, Negros.
The horizon becomes so magical once the day reaches 5PM. Since this part of Cebu faces the western side, this is a perfect place for sunset viewing! And who loves sunset viewing by the beach? Most likely, everyone!
What I like about this resort is that it is just a small one so the beachfront is not really that crowded. Especially on a weekday, it’s as if you booked the whole place exclusively. However, the resort still has to improve since they can’t offer food to their guests. We had to cook our own food, which actually added more fun in our short vacation. Don’t worry, utensils and cookware are available. There is also a grilling station.
The Tree Sunset Beach Resort is still a growing establishment. They currently have a limited number of rooms for now but they have huts and tree houses available for guests to stay the night in. If you want to see more details about this place, you can visit their Facebook page here.
On Being Loved and Being Able to Love
On special occasions like birthdays, one feels amplified feelings of love and affection from family and friends. I am very lucky to experience this on all of my birthdays. And in return, I make sure to express my love to them in my own little ways.
Being loved and having the chance to love are two of my most favorite feelings as a human being. It is a very heartwarming feeling to have a sense of security, belongingness and worth from people whom I love. Having people who help me navigate through life’s adventures and mishaps, and who care deeply for me are the best parts of being alive.
On the other hand, being able to love is equally transformative for me. Loving others has allowed me to open my heart to vulnerability, selflessness, and compassion. My loved ones are also the ones who taught me to always look out for them and see beyond my own needs and desires.
Birthdays are so special to me because this occasion makes me reflect on the life that I currently have. And I can say that I am beyond grateful for this life and for the people who make living very colorful and definitely bearable.
Thank you for reading my post up to this point. I hope you have a great time ahead!
I'll take delight in writing for you again soon.
