The river from the falls is about 3 kilometers long, and there are many small pools where you can take pictures and enjoy nature. Siquijor is also called a Healing Island. Many locals sell herbal medicines, charms, and small potions. This is part of their culture, so we should always be respectful and kind. The people in Siquijor are friendly and will smile back if you smile at them.
Visit the falls around 7:00–8:00 AM to enjoy the falls with fewer people and good sunlight for photos. Wear Water Shoes because the steps and rocks can be slippery. Water shoes or sandals will help keep you safe.
The easiest way is to take a fast craft ferry from Cebu Pier 1. The trip takes 4 to 5 hours and sometimes stops in Bohol before arriving in Siquijor. You can also go to Dumaguete first, either by flying (about 45 minutes) or taking an overnight boat. From Dumaguete, take another ferry to Siquijor, which takes 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Many people like this way because Dumaguete to Siquijor ferries are very frequent.
My visit to Cambugahay Falls was not just a swim it was a super fun adventure in a real tropical paradise.
