Avisala!
Happy New Year, everyone! This was during our Siargao escapade last December 6-11, 2023. After spending the first night in Siargao doing nothing but explore the center of General Luna, Jovy and I woke up early after realizing that the island experienced another blackout. This has always been happening on the whole island after Super Typhoon Odette. While waiting for our friends, we explored the beach near the market and tourism office. We then transferred to the second accomodation. It's still the same AirBnB but in a different location.
Our first activity on the island was surfing. I already shared a video of our surfing activity in Cloud 9, the famous surfing spot of Siargao. I will share the resort where we met our surfing guides this time. I think
had a free drink voucher at the resort, so we went there.
Even from the entrance, it already gave this tropical vibe with towering coconuts in the background and lush greeneries planted around the resort.
While walking towards the information desk, I already knew that the resort is one of the best I've ever visited all throughout the Philippines. Maybe it can only be topped by the ones in Boracay. It's not because of the stellar accommodation, but because of its ambiance.
The design of its buildings reminded me so much of a high school building here in the Philippines, but I didn't mind. I guess it was the lush green Bermuda grass that carpeted all throughout the property that brought out the overall tone of the resort.
While waiting for our guides, I can't help but roam around the resort. Of course, I took a lot of photos using my phone. I have to admit that doing content creation exclusively for Hive for more than three years made me complacent. I sometimes took only a few snaps and then I would rest. That time, I was so excited to share something about the resort here. It was refreshing to the eyes and everything was well kept even to the last corner of the resort.
Since we didn't book the resort, I can only provide a review of its overall ambiance. As for the rooms and other aspects of the accommodation like security, housekeeping, and restaurant, I can't provide a reliable detail. But based on how the property was maintained, I can assume that the rooms were also well-kept.
Aside from the restaurant and bar, you can also lounge at the mats directly placed on the grass while facing the Pacific Ocean. I don't know why, but the resort is also a great place to do sunset viewing while listening to a live band.
Since it's a waterfront resort, I didn't miss the ocean view. From the resort, the place in Cloud 9 where a lot of surfers frequent is not very far. If you're not into surfing, just sipping your favorite refreshment or cocktail while admiring the view is enough for you to feel that vacation.
I guess that's all for this post. Oh, wait! Let me share my photo as proof. Anyway, I'll share next time the sunset experience at the resort. It's a delight on its own; that's why I decided to have it in a different post.
