La primera parada fue la plaza Centenario, plaza llena de historia política, económica, religiosa y social. En el centro de la plaza hay un monumento adosado de muchos mosaicos de colores, que representa de arriba abajo la admiración de los originarios por las majestuosas sierras nevadas, de donde proviene desde siempre el agua que sustenta la zona, luego las áridas tierras de color ocre que representan el desierto, luego el verde que significa la transformación del hombre en ese desierto al reforestarlo y finalmente el rio Atuel.
