Bogotá es la ciudad capitalina y cosmopolita de la República de Colombia, te arrulla en sus numerosos edificios, su ritmo es acelerado y la lluvia es tu fiel acompañante. Conocerla y recorrerla es fascinante y puedes llegar a pensar que es casi infinita, de aire bohemio y moderno, como sucede en la mayoría de países latinoamericanos está llena de historias coloniales y de monumentos realizados por manos de esclavos, indígenas y criollos.

En pleno centro de la ciudad se alberga una edificación hecha por la reina naturaleza, la cual han nombrado los historiadores como ”La dama de la montaña que resplandece”.

El cerro Monserrate, muy cercano a lo que se conoce como el epicentro cultural de la ciudad, nos brinda una experiencia de conexión con la naturaleza, actividades deportivas, sabores representativos de la ciudad. Asistí un día domingo, por la mayor afluencia de turistas y actividades que podemos experimentar. Las recomendaciones son bastante sencillas, primero elegir la forma en la cual vas a llegar a la cima, puede ser a través de un tranvía, el boleto se compra en una taquilla, de 5 a 10 dólares tiene valor el tiquete o cómo decidí realizarlo por la entrada peatonal, la cual no tiene ningún costo; ambas son excelentes elecciones, en la primera opción disfrutas de la vista de la ciudad hasta llegar a la cima y en la segunda puedes ir observando la arquitectura y las diferentes paradas que ofrecen dulces típicos, recuerdos y anécdota de los creyentes católicos que visitan el templo construido en el ímpetu de su cima.

Al iniciar el recorrido les recomiendo llevar consigo hidratación y ropa muy cómoda, pero algo cubierta, que proteja del sol o de los vientos fríos. La subida peatonal, fue construida con escalones de piedra, muy notable de la arquitectura colonial, por lo cual deberás tener cuidado y observar muy bien al subir, debes tomar en cuenta según tu condición física el recorrido puede ser hasta de 2 horas y medias.

En lo particular se me hizo super divertido, muy entretenido y si eres de quien les encanta la actividades al aire libre, en plena ciudad salvaje, es una actividad ideal. Cada cierto tiempo, irás subiendo y visualizando diferentes carteles que te van anunciando la altura sobre el nivel del mar al que te encuentras; si eres de tener pánico a los espacios altos, es mejor que ni los voltees a mirar, sigue adelante que la cima tiene su recompensa.

Al llegar, lo primero que logre observar es la satisfacción de quienes hacemos el recorrido, de respirar ampliamente algo cansado pero super alegre, nos dirigimos al mirador, el cual de forma segura nos permite observar la majestuosidad de la ciudad. Inmediatamente pensé, lo pequeños que somos en comparación al mundo y sus maravillas, no lograba observar ni carros, ni prendas de lujos, en definitiva era una vista hermosa en donde se unificaban los techos de aquellos altos edificios como si quisieran tocar el cielo infinito.El atractivo principal es ingresar a la majestuosa capilla construida con el fin de que las oraciones estén más cerca de Dios. Es un espacio de conexión espiritual que te invita a recorrer la Pasión de Cristo, con estaciones escenificadas podrás revivir los momentos más intensos de Jesucristo al llegar a la crucifixión.
Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed is the satisfaction of those who make the journey, to breathe widely something tired but super happy, we headed to the viewpoint, which safely allows us to observe the majesty of the city.
Immediately I thought, how small we are in comparison to the world and its wonders, I could not observe neither cars nor luxury clothes. It was definitely a beautiful view where the roofs of those tall buildings were unified as if they wanted to touch the infinite sky.
The main attraction is to enter the majestic chapel built so that prayers are closer to God. It is a space of spiritual connection that invites you to go through the Passion of Christ, with staged stations you can relive the most intense moments of Jesus Christ to reach the crucifixion.
Encontrarás, restaurantes con la comida típica bogotana como Sopa de ajiaco, gallina, chorizos y arepas, puedes tomar café, chocolate con queso o aromática de hierbas. Tienes la opción del bazar con los diferentes artesanos y cocineros, así como un restaurante de lujo donde puedes reservar para ocasiones especiales.

En definitiva, el poder de la naturaleza es algo que deberíamos tener más presente, lo imponente que puede llegar a resultar su poder así como el conocer nuestra historia y la valentía de nuestros antepasados que nos han dejado infinitas maravillas por explorar.
