Hello, dear hivers! Here I am again to share my wonderful adventure with you.
My family and friends spent three days visiting a place called the City of Pines to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary, to escape the hot weather, feel a cooler breeze, change our daily atmosphere, and enjoy even just for three days. Today, I want to share our mini-trip to Baguio City, Philippines. We only had a three-day tour. So, we’ve had a quick visit to every destination. But I made sure that all memories would be captured beautifully. Let’s travel together!
Our first destination is the Igorot Stone kingdom featuring the Igorot legend, ancient structures made of stones, inspired by the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras.
This photo was taken as we made our way to the entrance of the so-called Stone Kingdom.
Here we are. That stair is the way to the kingdom’s entrance. As you can see, it is so simple outside, you will never imagine what it is like behind that wall. So, let’s get inside now.
Here is the entrance. You will pay a certain entrance fee to get in.
Once you get in, this is the first thing that you will see as you enter, “Umali Kayo”. It is used to welcome the guests into one’s home.
On the right side, you will see the giant statues, which are one of the favorite photo subjects of the tourists. These two statues are Igorot warriors. Look how tall these statues are.
We can also see here these female and male Igorot statues on the right side from the entrance. It seems that these two are warriors too. Another tourist’s favorite photo subject.
Let’s look at the kingdom from the top. From here, we can see the golden bridge and the nipa huts. The golden bridge is located at the center, near the entrance gate of the kingdom.
This spot is not the highest. We can see from here the beauty of the stone kingdom. I lack the courage to go higher, lol. Aside from fear of heights, my legs hurt too.
This black-grey castle can be seen on the right side as you enter the Stone kingdom. It is where the gold Igorot warrior statues can be found.
Look at these five-giant black-grey statues. If I am not mistaken these statues are Igorot warriors too. This photo was taken as we are going down the kingdom. These teens with me in this photo are my two boys – those in white shirts, and their friends.
The next photo was taken on the other side of the kingdom. This is the way to the black-grey castle. We were about to explore this, but due to limited time, we need to stop from here.
That’s all for now. Me and family really enjoyed this adventure, yet it was a bit tiring. These are just some of the spots that we can see here when we get to this kingdom. Many were not explored because of limited time. Also, it is not easy to explore the whole kingdom, since it is very wide, and high. What I can say is, this Igorot Stone Kingdom is one of the best tourist spots in Baguio City.
Come and celebrate with me. I will take you to some tourist spots here in Baguio City. Our second destination would be the famous Botanical Garden. Stay tune. As I will be sharing more photos of our mini-trip. If you find this post interesting, please leave a comment below or an upvote.
