Today I will attempt to tell the future. I will be writing about what will happen in 5 years. What will the world look like? This is what I think.

In 5 years I actually think things will be much the same as they are right now. That amount of time feels long, but in reality, it will be here before we know it. I believe there will be some big differences by then though.
- Covid. I don’t think it will be gone, but in 5 years I think people will be less afraid of the vaccines, and enough people will get it/have access to it that Covid will be more like the Flu is now. Despite that, I think we will see some of the last year and a half’s habits become a normal part of society. People will probably continue to social distance by default in crowded places, and I think masks will be a much more common accessory, especially in the fall and winter.
- Crypto. I see both good news and bad for us in the Crypto space. In my opinion crypto is inevitable at this point it’s not a matter of if, but when. I think in the next 5 years we will see countries warm up to crypto, but I believe the trend of condemning resource intensive chains will continue. In 5 years I believe chains that work on greener tech like POS will be the ones on top.
However, I think something else is going to happen in the crypto space too that isn’t as good in my opinion. Once countries adopt crypto as a viable form of currency they will want to control and monitor it. In 5 years I believe there will be multiple country-issued cryptos that offer none of the decentralization and anonymity but are very easy for anyone to use. I believe the majority of people will use these country-backed cryptos, but hopefully, over time it will add more people to the existing crypto world. - I’ll have a 4-year-old. This one is the craziest to me. After a long time, and a lot of heartaches our son is due on November 11th of this year. It is coming up quickly and we are very excited. I can’t believe in 5 years I’ll have a kid who can carry on a conversation with me.
This one was a lot of fun. Thanks for taking the time to read it. It will be fun to look back at this in 5 years to see if I was right about things.
