Hey there, it me again and with this wonderful topic placed before me in this challenge today, I am thrilled to pen down my answer to this. Fair Warning - my answer may not be as lengthy as you might have hoped or covering many points as you may have wanted but it still carries the answer to the question above and in a short way, it will be tabled down. So let's get down to business shall we?
I did a proposal for my freelancing gig as of the time I was just starting out. A kinda a template I will use in most of the case senerios and I did shew it to a friend of mine who was also a freelancer and a good one. Yea, he was very good at what he does, much more experienced and had landed lots of gigs on his freelance career. To crown it all, he has gotten to win over lots of bids from clients amidst many other applicants or freelancers. So, why not I show him my newly constructed template to get honest feedbacks from him who his far experienced.
I showed him, he looked at him under some minutes and said, Wow! It is just great. No joke, I felt like I was on top of the world. Like I will beat those hundreds of freelancers all submitting bids times and times again. Although it is normal to be in freelancing and not land your first job in a month or two. I was expecting such so the pressure wasn't really there.
Few days later, the same person called me to tell me he has something to say. Something he didn't have the balls to say before. What could that be? I was curious! No, my mind never had the hint it was my bid proposal template. Afterall, aside freelance, we do other stuffs, talk other stuffs, which could be random chats or jokes.
It all came down to shock me terribly when he bluntly told me I'd hardly land a gig with such template if I will ever😒. I was thinking within me if this dude was OK. Why didn't he tell me that in the first place..... Yea, I did ask him that and all he said was he didn't wanna hurt my feelings as I was just starting out. He didn't wanna discourage me. 😩That was funny because there was a reason I came to meet him in the first place but sadly, that reason wasn't clearly defined.
