Some days of last week were declared public holidays to celebrate the end of the Ramadan fast for Muslims in my country. The days were Wednesday and Thursday so I made up my mind to use these free days together with the weekend to practice the Python programming language since I'm an IT novice and I'm just starting to find my way around it. The idea seemed great and was the best way to make a good use of the holidays.
On Wednesday morning, I got a call from some friends who were in town and wanted to hangout, but I had made plans already and didn't wanna risk the rewards for doing all that I've planned for a hangout. These are also very close friends who're fun to be with and I sincerely would love to hangout with them but I had made plans already. They also on the other hand would still try to visit me if I said I was home and that would really mess up the plan. They may also get mad at the fact that I was neglecting them for some "work" when the idea itself was to just be at home and improve myself. So I lied.
I told them, I wasn't in town and wouldn't be back until Monday but if they were still in town by Monday, I would definitely hangout with them. Yeah, They bought it. Mostly because they know I actually travel alot and may truly not be in town but also because I had promised them to hangout when I return if they were still around.
I spent the holiday working on my self and learning new things, I also started learning how to use the C++ as well along side Python. On Monday afternoon, I hanged out with them and we really had a good time. It might've been obvious from my reduced activity on Hive on Monday but it was epic and memorable. I confessed my lie to them at the gathering, gave my reasons and apologized.
Well, after that day, I made up my mind to always tell the truth in all circumstances, regardless of how it would be perceived and regardless of the result.
