It's been almost five months since the federal government commenced re-construction of the lekki- epe road down to Abraham Adesaya. They are not so fast with the road construction and it looked as if it's going to take a whole year to complete.
This ofcourse have caused many nuisance and disrupted normal flow of traffic around the vicinity. The kind of dust it raises is so thick in the air like mist subsequently
leaves all vehicles very dirty. Those that are mostly affected are the ones trekking as their body will be covered with dust. The kind of heavy traffic this road construction brought was indescribable. My colleagues at work who lives along Abijo GRA and also Gbogije side always come to work exhausted and covered with dust. I felt that I was lucky as the road construction never reached the location that I live. I cannot relate to their suffering and sometimes I just laugh at them.
Don't worry it will soon get to your turn.
I rolled out my tongue at them and replied them that it will never be that bad when it gets to my location. I bragged that the affluent people living in my location will surely know how to put things in order as none of them will want to suffer.
Well the construction finally got to my location last two weeks and everything was going on fine. No traffic or dust. It seemed they have everything under control. The only people affected were the road side sellers that have their shop destroyed and asked to leave because their shop was mounted on the road. So as the road expansion progresses they were asked to leave. Every other thing was under control and I couldn't be happier.
Then everything suddenly change
Last weekned was a very long weekned for me as I spent a whole 4 hours in traffic while going to the market. It was unbelievable and I tried so much to come up with a tangible excuse why the traffic was much.
Maybe it's because it's weekned
It could be because we have entered December and a lot of people are out shopping.
By the time I finished making up these excuses it was so late and i got back home around 7:30pm. This was someone that left to the market by 3pm. Thank God for my children's nanny she was gracious enough to help me to prepare dinner that night because i was weak to my bones.
This was me getting the first dose of what my colleagues have been passing through.
This morning, I wake up on time and decided to turn up to work a little earlier than I used to do. To be honest, my instinct was already whispering to me that something was wrong and I need to brace myself for what's coming. I consoled myself that no matter what it is it won't be so bad. Maybe a little traffic here and there.
Well that little trafic turned out to be 4 hours traffic and I was also covered in dust because it got to the point that i have to get down from the bus and join the people trekking because the traffic was at a standstill.
Immediately I entered the office everyone burst out in laughter. I can't help but join them because I know that I looked hilarious.
Everything on my body changed colour; my wig, clothes, shoes even my body
I looked just like the first picture in my post.
ALL PICTURES ARE MINE
