A crypto gaming company were in emergency talks last month after they were taken by surprise by the crypto bear market and how bad it actually was. The gaming company known as Reem Tonsters ended up having to lose around 50 staff which they took on during the very good times.
A spokesman for the group claimed that this bear market was 100 times worse than the previous bear market that took place in 2017,2016,2015,2014 and they did not expect for their market cap to decrease by that much. During the good old days of last year these cards were fetching up o $20,000 dollars on the open market. Now you can buy the same card for a few quid from a rekt Reem Tonsters fan boy.
"We took off and never really started a rainy day fund" claimed the spokesman.
"There were even money fights in the office and we would hire whoever walked through the door."
"Dam we even hired some of the creepy Discord mods that were doing it for free."
"When Bitcoin plummeted the 2017 bear market was long forgotten so nobody really knew what to expect."
"The old timers mentioned Bitcoin dropping from $3000 to $1500 not 79% from $60,000 to bloody $!6,000"
"Now we can't even afford macchiatos in the canteen."
"Cryptocurrency is known to be the most volatile and risky financial system on the planet. When you think the bottom is in then check again. The bottom is never in. Things can go to zero and there is many rug pulls happening within the industry. It is the financial version of a World War I minefield. Very few businesses actually succeed. So why is it that Reem Tonsters got it so wrong with their predictions? " claimed an analyst.
"Well we are not economists in the first instance" claimed the spokesman.
"We really are just a bunch of nerds who love robot cards that care little for the mechanics of the market and everything that goes with it. We care more for what edition Spiderman defeated the Phantom Knight. Everything was so great in 2021 that we though the party would not end but we came down to Earth with a bang and now we have to get rid of a load of staff who are like family. If I could mention a few.....
"We had to say goodbye to Maureen who cleaned the toilets and Greg our chef with the little arms like a T-rex. How he cooked anything I do not know.
Bob the US Veteran who we employed as our chief mod in our Discord that took no shit and Genevieve the therapist although we heard more about her problems and her Fentanyl addiction.
Oh and we had to get rid of Curious George who forecast this meltdown but we told him to shut the hell up if he know what was good for him and stop being a spoilsport."
"What did George do for a living?"
"Oh he was our accountant"
We have to save here, we have to save there, we have 8 months before we run out of money, we have no cash coming in.... blah dee blah dee blah."
"But we really didn't see it coming and this FTX thing is after really throwing a spanner in the works."
"We are still making money but there is a small issue of salaries we are all on from the good old days of last year that we need to sort out now but we don't like conflict so nobody wants to get into it."
"We will deal with that in the New Year and hopefully fingers crossed that the market goes back to normal."
"
