It's the first time I make a post in this community where comedy is the main focus and I really think I have some things to tell, in that sense, I hope to have a long relationship with all of you. Today's anecdote at the time was not funny at all, in fact, it was awkward for me, but it wasn't my fault, I didn't really understand what was going on.
To put it in context, I worked in a Call Center in which we provided customer service to a telemarketer in Argentina, a country that like in Venezuela, which is my country of origin, we speak Spanish; however, the accents or dialects are very different, so sometimes there could be problems of clarity in conversations.

Es primera vez que realizo un post en esta comunidad en la que la comedia es el foco principal y la verdad creo que tengo algunas cosas que contar, es ese sentido, espero tener una larga relación con todos ustedes. La anécdota de hoy en su momento no fue nada graciosa, de hecho, fue incómoda para mí, pero no fue mi culpa, en realidad yo no entendía que era lo que estaba sucediendo.
Para ponerlos en contexto, yo trabajaba en un Call Center en el cual prestábamos servicios de atención al cliente a una tele operadora de Argentina, un país que al igual que en Venezuela que es mi país de origen hablamos español; sin embargo, los acentos o dialectos son muy diferentes, entonces, en ocasiones podía haber problemas de claridad en las conversaciones.
The fact is that I was talking to this client who was unhappy with the information of his debt, I simply limited myself to the process of my work and I kept firmly confirming that this was the information and that there was nothing else to do but to pay. After insisting for several minutes, the client was critical, annoyed and at a certain point expressed himself with the phrase "are you loading me?", as you surely understand, this literally would not make any sense in that context and maybe you are thinking why did he say that?
Well, the thing is that in Argentina that phrase would be something like "¿are you f*ck*ng with me?", but I obviously did not know that and in my mind I was just wondering why he thinks I'm loading him if we are talking on the phone, that would be impossible ha ha ha. The truth is that the client kept telling me the same thing and my reiterative answer was "no sir, I'm not loading you, I can't do that".
Anyway, it was a situation in which the dialect or accent of two different countries played against me in a situation that at the time was uncomfortable, but now I think it was actually very funny.
El caso es que estaba hablando con este cliente el cual se encontraba inconforme con la información de su deuda, yo sencillamente me limitaba al proceso de mi trabajo y me mantenía firme confirmándole que esa era la información y que no había nada más que hacer sino pagar. Luego de insistir durante varios minutos, el cliente se mostraba crítico, molesto y en determinado momento se expresó con la frase "¿me estas cargando?", como ustedes seguro entienden, esto de manera literal no tendría ningún sentido en ese contexto y quizá están pensado ¿por qué dijo eso?
Bueno, el caso es que esa frase en Argentina sería algo así como “¿are you fucking with me?", pero yo obviamente no lo sabía y en mi mente solo me preguntaba ¿porque cree que lo estoy cargando si estamos hablando por teléfono?, eso sería imposible ja jajá. Lo cierto es que el cliente no paraba de decirme lo mismo y mi respuesta reiterativa era "no señor, no lo estoy cargando, no puedo hacerlo".
En fin, que fue una situación en la que el dialecto o acento de dos países diferentes me jugaron en contra en una situación que en su momento fue incómoda, pero ahora pienso que en realidad fue muy graciosa.
