Experience Is The Best Teacher
Every blessed night is another problem with my uncle, we tried all we could to ensure he stops drinking but all our efforts went in vain. He is a very handsome, smart, cool and nice looking young man but anytime he mistakenly touches a bottle of beer everything will turn to the opposite.
At first everyone thought probably our village people laid a curse on him or something because he doesn't drink during the day except uat nights. He is more humble than everyone in the house from morning until 6:00pm but as soon as he says let me check on a friend down the street , hmm the big problem starts.
My mom liked him so much and as such, she always sits him down everytime she finds him in his right senses to advise him on the dangers of alcoholism, he would sit calm and concentrate as if he was listening, after everything he would even weep and sob giving everyone the impression that he has repented but just wait until twilight that days drama would be the worst
It is not as if , he does anything bad to anyone when he gets drunk, but he gets so intoxicated that you can barely differentiate between him and a mad man down the street 😅. There was a day he got drunk and woke up at night and swept the whole compound, washed the dishes and washed all the dirty clothes in the house by midnight till day break heheh
Last week he got drunk and slept in a gutter but God saved him, no one saw him before he came back to his right mind, so he sneak into the house as early as possible and tidy up. We became the more concerned, we are scared that drinking could land him into trouble one of this days.
We tried all we could, moreover we know him with crocodile tears, we don't even dare cross the line to talk to him because if you do and you allowed him cried saying I have repented, I won't it again, thank you for loving me this much. Hehe! You have called the worst..
I can never forget the day he burnt the new clothes he bought for his friend's wedding thinking they were rags😁 that same night he ate in the same plate with our dog that he claims he doesn't like. We woke up and found him sleeping with his arms wrapped around the dog like some new wedded couples.
Oh uncle I see you got yourself a lover finally, that was when he opened his eyes and jumped from the floor doing shhhhhhhiii, shhhhhhii kaii, kaiii to the dog. It was like a movie before everyone in the house.
But something wonderful happened after that scenario, uncle took a break from alcohol and he was normal, everyone became so happy and gave glory to God. My uncle is very handsome and in his early thirties. Ladies often crush on him because of his looks but he is not a kind of guy that has time for women.
Our granny started talking to him about getting a wife or even present his girlfriend to the family so we can know that he is truly a man, we don't understand all this thing of always being alone for over thirty years, no one has ever seen him with a lady.
One night he went out and came back drunk but this time around, he came with a lady, wow! Everyone was surprised. He took her to his room. No one was opportune to see her face because it was at night, and his room is separate from the main house. Our plan was that early in the morning we will go and welcome her properly.
Early that Morning we heard a scream coming from my uncle's room and the voice sounded almost like his, we all became scared and rushed out of the main house to his place to see what the problem was, beloved guess what we saw? A mad lady with torn dresses sitting right on the bed holding this young man's trouser tightly🤣. When he saw my mom, he started crying and pleading for help.
We have to get a few neighbors to help us get him out of her grip and to chased her out of the house. When my mom asked him how he got her , he said all he could remember was that he saw a very beautiful lady standing right before him on the street and she said she loves him , so he decided to bring her home only to wake up this morning and behold a mad lady in his room, when he tried to run away she caught him and held him tight , that was why he screamed. He said it while tears was gushing from his eyes like a tap.
Do you know what? After that experience, my uncle changed completely, in fact he is now the one telling others to avoid alcohol, experience is the best teacher indeed.
Thank you so much for reading, do have a nice weekend and a week full of blessings ahead.
