There's this attraction the male folks get when they're into tech and when they can play one or two musical instruments, preferably the drum, the piano, or the guitar. Those who are playing trumpets don't get this same attention they make funny faces which makes them unattractive while playing the trumpet, their mouth is overblown, their eyes popped out and saliva escapes freely once in a while, it's hard to fall in love with that guy once you create a Mental picture not to talk of being face to face with a trumpeter. But there's this exciting thing.
Most young men I know started learning how to play one musical instrument or the other because of two reasons, one it's either their girlfriends were snatched by people who played a musical instrument, or they wanted to impress a girl who liked music and they didn't just know how to.
Nevertheless, you can never define serendipity in a better way. I mean, some people became so good at playing the guitar, it's hard to imagine that something so little as the smile of a girl gave them the motivation to learn and even attain mastery, but what do I know? When I was little I heard tales of men who accepted to be flogged on their bare buttocks in other to win the love of a girl. I mean.... What can be crazier?
The only difference here is, playing an instrument can become a source of income while doing something crazy because of a girl has no secondary advantage. I know a friend who played the guitar so well, you'd think his motivation or drive was something really divine, but seriously it wasn't, he learned how to play the guitar because his guitar teacher wasn't handsome but he married the prettiest girl in their community.
He reckoned he could do the same, but funny enough, he never did get any girl to love him for this, but he was quite happy to be wrongly motivated for the right purposes.
It's more like how people sing about drugs and money and say their mother motivated them to do so
I have a funny way of looking at these people, but I wouldn't lie, I have things for girls with an atrociously beautiful voices, whenever they sing, it melts the wall of my heart. Believe me, I'm not a love freak, I have a stony heart, but two ways to get to me is either by music or food.. good Lord! But you see guys who play good instruments have this sinister smirk, it looks pure on the surface, but the intention is evil.
The ones that play drums will attach "sticks" to their names, to signify they play drums, and the ones that play stringed instruments will attach "strings" to their names, it became a way of saying "hi, I'm a drummer" without saying it. Cheeky don't you think? The ones who play at churches are eviler, with a song they might just steal your future wife. However, I like to say the world is evolving, without the right gig, an instrumentalist might just die of hunger in a world where everyone some young people are now Nigerian princes (the ones you might know as yahoo boys) online.
This is to say, music instrumentalist are now losing their essence, even are more gifted than Orpheus, and your pocket is look broken like dried lips on a harmattan, it's safe to say you're untalented. This shows the evolution of love and how people are no longer attracted by the things they used to in the past. It felt silly when I take a peep into the past and see how people used to be uninterested in Money, I mean, I grew up listening to the Celine Dion and the Don Moen of this world, people easily get married when they like the same instrumentalist or singer. People were motivated to sing and you have the extremely unlucky ones like me, who had no talent for singing and the learning process felt like suffering or smiling.
I mean I might sound good in the bathroom when I sing, there's the studio-like reverberation that a bathroom gives your voice, you only realize you sound like a toad when you're out of the bathroom. However we have to classify music, playing the trumpet is often ignored, I mean people now prefer the saxophone. It's sweet to say "JamesSAX" than "James Trumpet", might be extremely wrong. It's all about the packaging, if you'd like to clarify this, go ahead to ask any instrumentalist how they met their spouse or partners, take a chill and you'll enjoy a thrilling tale.
